Capcom has released three new gameplay videos for Resident Evil 7, focusing on the Baker family home, its denizens and horrors. Resident Evil 7 releases on January 24th, and its PC version appears to be a really polished product. A PC demo will be released on December 19th so that all PC gamers can test and see whether they can run it. Enjoy!

Watching that first part of the video, I’m so scurred at the slow moving redneck that talks like he’s going to absolutely grill me alive, yet walks at a 80yr man’s pace, same with the player. It’s not all that scary or horrifying when you walk at a snails pace and your foe as well as letting yourself get hit by the enemy on purpose.
I know it’s all meant to be staged, but it’s staged rather poorly and just makes me roll my eyes at the usual events that pop out to scare you and the general pacing of the game itself. The game just feels like TCM blended with Blair witch project and Outlast.
The part at 2:39 made me laugh though. AI acts just like the Ganados from 4 where they roar while standing in place, then resume the same pursue state as if nothing has changed, like AI from 2004.
Cue Noble Alfred booing. 😛

Nice textures. I’m sure they tried. x) Other than that the game looks okay… Nothing for me to get excited over. Which is a shame since I loved RE4 and 5 for the most part. The marketing for those games were great too.

True, I guess. But like what someone else commented below it looks a bit too slow paced from what we’re seeing. That could end up being more frustrating than suspenseful. Who knows though it could end up being a surprise hit.

In the first gameplay video, the part where he gets cornered and wanked by a shovel twice seems awkward as hell.
