RAGE 2 – New official video shows 9 minutes of brand new pre-beta gameplay footage

Bethesda has released a brand new gameplay video for Rage 2, showing 9 minutes of new gameplay footage from the game’s pre-beta build. According to the developers, this video shows a lethal dance-off for a sweet new ability, a high-flying trip over a hostile open world, and a fight against a very angry man in a mech suit.

RAGE 2 is being developed by by id Software and Avalanche Studios and promises to feature insane action, open-world environments with no loadings, vehicular combat, upgradable weapons, and like its predecessor will be using a first-person perspective.

In RAGE 2, players will assume the role of a Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland, as they will traverse diverse landscapes using an array of powerful weapons and unique Nanotrite abilities to defeat ferocious factions, massive mutants, and the oppressive rule of The Authority.

The game is currently planned for a May 14th release.

Enjoy!

    1. Just replayed original (not downgraded Full Clip Edition) Bulletstorm and it looks great for a 2011 game made on UE3. The gameplay loop especially is very satisfying and fun. Wish People Can Fly made a sequel for it.

  1. I would rather wait for Doom Eternal then a Rage game.
Rage 1 was such a disappointment, I wonder why they gave this IP another shot.
Why not a new singleplayer Quake game?

    1. “Rage 1 was such a disappointment”

Does it look like the same game to you?

” I wonder why they gave this IP another shot.”

“Why not a new singleplayer Quake game?”

“Rage 1 was such a disappointment””

So was quake 4, why give this ip another go?

Jeez did you read this comment before posting it.

    2. because they’re corporations making money based on marketing books written by old farts. last quake failed so they think quake as a product is a dog unit now, don’t read too much about it, it’s rytarded.

  2. weapons that sound like high heels and firecrackers, check
    garbage weapon design, check
    busy work, check
good luck generic low iq devs.

    1. guns sound fine and as for the weapon design, there is a gun that works as a magnet you shoot the enemy then you aim somewhere else and you shoot and the enemy goes there flying. Also there is a magum that sticks enemies with napalm and second fire is a finger snap that detonates them into a fiery explosion.

      1. no are you kidding? weapons sound terrible, they sound like someone blowing hooka. also i was talking about actual weapon design, like their 3d models. they look like straight out of cod, ugly fat generic low iq looking weapons with shetty sound effects.

          1. old csgo had good weapon sounds, bad company 2 had good ones too. project brutality, max payne 1 and 2 (with the exception of few weapons). but when you talk about sound design, i think it’s impossible to beat battlefield games (every major battlefield release after battlefield 2)

    1. Lol that was my exact reaction. I’m so curious to see what the hell bethesda is after fallout 76. *grabs popcorn*

  3. A Bethesda(dot)net exclusive with its pitiful refunds policy as exposed by the Fallout 76 debacle? No thanks, Zenimax.

        1. At least with Windows 10 Store there are some some very useful non-gaming Apps. Epic Games Store and Bethesda Launcher are pointless.

          1. That potential positive is, for me at least, more than offset by the continued existence of Microsoft’s UWP.

  4. Adding pink and bright colours is all the RAGE now and don’t be surprised if you see rainbows to please a certain set of people. Still waiting for unicorns and marshmallow guns.

  5. I wanna play this game on one principle alone that this is the ORIGINAL AVALANCHE studio, Avalanche Sweden, not that shell of a studio that’s been working on MOST of Just Cause 3 and then now fully Just cause 4 called Avalanche NY. Avalanche Sweden is the original OG’s that brought us Just Cause 1 & 2 and maybe parts of 3 till they moved the hell on to go work on MAD MAX because square enix couldn’t make their minds up on what type of game they wanted JC 3 to be. Instead what we got was Avalanche NY, which is NOT AVALANCHE. Avalanche NY has destroyed Just Cause franchise, it’s a disgrace. I will follow Avalanche Sweden wherever they go, but i’m quite sadden by the disaster that has befell the Just cause Franchise. Rico Rodriguez deserved better.

With that said, WHAT’s WITH ALL THE DAMN PINK?

  6. And still no Mouse and Keyboard gameplay, despite Doom Eternal, published by the same company, showcasing just how f*ing clunky thumbsticks are for shooters despite 30 kinds of autoaim.

  7. Full priced product and they injected mobile model microtransaction scamming like another Ubisoft. Then on top, this 3rd party multiplat game will not be releasing on various stores on PC but bet your a s s it is getting released on different console markets – so this is a skip for me. Besides my absolute beef with mobile model scams in full priced games, I do not want my credit card on all these stores after my last one was stolen and used from… wait for it… an online store. Done with being forced to buy and play my games through these unnecessary launchers vs running my own games separate from these weirdos who want control over my libraries – while all the games have Denuvo anyways.

If I absolutely must tolerate one store/launcher/drm layer blah blah blah then that will be Steam because of the refund policy, my credit card is on ONE store, and I’ve been on that for 15 years (when HL2 launched). Give me a great reason to use a different store besides limiting my choices and I may consider going but dont screw PC users while console users get a choice.

  8. This is old footage that came out last month.

Anyway day one purchase for me, Can’t for this game and Doom Eternal.
