Official gameplay trailer released for Call of Duty Black Ops 4’s battle royale mode, Blackout

Man, Activision is surely doing its best to steal Battlefield 4’s thunder. Prior to the open beta phase for Battlefield 4, Activision revealed the full map for Call of Duty Black Ops 4’s battle royale mode. And today, just a few hours after EA publishing the first details for Firestorm, Activision released a new trailer for Blackout.

This gameplay trailer will give you an idea of what you can expect from Call of Duty Black Ops 4’s battle royale mode. Blackout feels a bit more arcade-ish than the other top-tier first-person battle royale games, and I’m pretty sure that its overall feeling will be different from the one that will be featured in Battlefield 4.

In Blackout, players will fight through classic Black Ops locales while playing as some of their favorite characters from across the series. Players will drop into the action in a wing suit, and take command of land, sea and air vehicles in this last-player-standing experience celebrating the Black Ops series in an unprecedented way, all on the biggest map in Call of Duty franchise history.

Enjoy!

    1. BF4 or 5 don’t have any fun game mechanics like wing suits or a grapple hook. Yes, it’s a BR coat-tail rider, but it’s also clearly concerned with actually being fun. I don’t see how anyone could bash COD and make excuses for Battlefield. If anything COD has redeemed itself in recent years, at least on consoles. PC ports have been awful so I’m not going to buy a COD any time soon, but as far as GAME DESIGN goes the destruction physics are the only edge BF has left and when watching recent Battlefield gameplay I never get the sense that the destruction is actually impactful on gameplay.

  1. call of duty games are far superior to 99 percent of trash games that kids play these days. i miss the days when everyone was excited for call of duty instead of boring garbage games like witcher 3 or doom or divinity original sin 2.

      1. sorry i can’t think of anything recently. i’m having financial problems irl and it’s stressing me a lot. for now i can’t clear my mind and come up with something good so i just throw these to get random mad teenager who are passing by.

    1. I’m guessing it will be a big success but the thing I wonder about is whether Battle Royale is just another popular fad that will pass or is it here to stay for years?

I like single player campaigns so I’m hoping people will tire of BR at some point but it is what it is for now.

Lol man, at least proof read your own articles before publishing, or rushing out news just for the heck of it….. It’s Battlefield 5, not 4…..

    *pathetic*…..

  3. CoD doesn’t even look like CoD anymore
it looks like a typical Esports EXTREME meme bonanza with lootboxes

the fact they don’t even ship with a campaign just shows how ROTTEN the industry is
if only our generation wasn’t a bunch of Dopamine addicted rats the industry would’ve crashed ages ago

  4. From what I’ve seen COD hit its peak in sales with Black Ops II and has been in decline for the last 6 years but even so, sales are still for the most part strong.

Possibly the Battle Royale mode will be what a lot of people are wanting and revive COD to it’s glory days but for me I haven’t played a COD game since Black Ops II so I can’t speak from experience if they are any good.

From what I have played I think COD1, COD2 and MW1 were the best.

    1. Same here I stopped buying them since Black Ops and stopped playing them after Black Ops 2.
It went from trying to be an authentic war experience with some nods to film to some weird a*s James Bond Michael Bay mish mash.

I’d say the most fun I had with a CoD game was with Call of Duty 1 United Offensive expansion pack multiplayer.
It was a less big Battlefield 1942 but with much more polish and attention to detail.
I think the games were good until WaW, they lost their charm/atmosphere and their tech progress right there and there.

  5. Very noticable that graphics have taken yet another dip as the map size increased. They should really figure out a way to get proper shadows at a distance, that’s what looks the most outdated about this video.
