Star Wars Battlefront 3 cancelled game

New video shows six minutes of gameplay footage from Free Radical’s cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront 3 game

YouTube’s ‘FuZaH’ has shared a new video, showcasing 6 minutes of new gameplay footage from Free Radical’s cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront 3 game. This is a follow up to last week’s video that showcased the game’s alpha build.

As with the previous video, the audio appears to be messed up in this new video. Moreover, this is footage from an alpha build, so expect to see various glitches that were not addressed during that time.

Needless to say that this is a really cool video, and we believe that a lot of gamers would love to see more similar videos from other cancelled games or from games that were rebooted during their development. Imagine, for example, videos from all the different builds of Duke Nukem Forever. Now that would be awesome.

But anyway, enjoy the video and stay tuned for more!

  1. This is what i wanted from a Star Wars BF game.. fly from ground and get into space.. just like in the moviessss..

This just lacks the polish and stuff.. but imagine this on the FrostB engine, with better fps and animations. It already sounds 9000 times cooler than BAttlefront EA.

        1. When it’s freakin’ done, like every other game. I swear this whole meme of Star Citizen taking forever is so brainless and tired. The game has been in development for only four years. They’re not making an indie platformer. The game is MASSIVE. It takes time.

No one complained when FF15 took a decade. People just like to be part of a group and the whine-fest over SC is another one.

Gamers complain when games take too long to finish and then they complain when games are rushed to market. They just complain to complain. Yeesh.

          1. “The game has been in development for only four years. They’re not making an indie platformer. The game is MASSIVE. It takes time.”

Only four years, lmao. If the game is so MASSIVE then why not SCALE it down and expand it later like proper MMO’s do?

“No one complained when FF15 took a decade. ”

Lies. And everyone complained about DNF. Strange omission to take btw, are you a shill by chance?

“Gamers complain when games take too long to finish and then they complain when games are rushed to market.”

Because both situations are bad maybe?

          2. “If the game is so MASSIVE then why not SCALE it down and expand it later like proper MMO’s do?”

WHY WOULD THEY? lol Why limit development to some arbitrary standard because it’s what other failed dev teams have done with their same failed MMOs? They’re making the game they want to make how they want to make it. They’re not making the same mistakes other studios are making where they shovel out some cr@p and then try to fix it piecemeal, which is something gamers criticize new games like crazy on.

Finally you have a AAA game made by independent developers for gamers without the much-hated, money-grubbing distributors pushing them to meet this deadline and cram in nonsense like microtransactions and fragment the game into endless DLCs and people STILL complain. lol

I’ve not put a single penny into SC and I don’t even follow its development other than knowing roughly how long they’ve been working on it. I don’t have a dog in the race. However, constantly reading these clueless, meme-following zombies just repeat ad-nauseum the same, tired “It’ll be done in a century… hurrhurrhurr” I’m embarrassed for these people. They can’t think for themselves.

The whiners just need to pipe down and let the d@mn devs work on the game to its completion. Even if it takes another five years, your taxes aren’t going up. It doesn’t affect you at all. Be patient, kids. Be patient.

          3. “Finally you have a AAA game made by independent developers for gamers without the much-hated, money-grubbing distributors pushing them to meet this deadline and cram in nonsense like microtransactions and fragment the game into endless DLCs and people STILL complain. lol”

That’s where you are wrong kid. And i don’t even hate developers for putting in microtransactions(Star citizens ships) or deadlines in their projects. A man’s gotta eat, and a game gotta be released.

          4. “WHY WOULD THEY?” So the game can come out at some point, so they will stop saying HEY NEW STUFF, YOU CAN NOW PLAY AS INFANTRY, HEY NEW VEHICLES, GIVES US YOUR MONEY, HEY LOOK WE CHANGED ENGINE.

Please dont hurt me, i am just putting some thought out there i like the game alot. I always wanted a game like this, just a bit less on the MMO style. i still prefer the Elite spaceship design though.

” They’re making the game they want to make how they want to make it.”

Well here is the thing, they say that there is no plan, they just add more stuff when they get a new idea, they dont have a well thought out plan and timetable or even features, they add stuff when something pops up in their head, i think this is what some people mean about

“clueless, meme-following zombies just repeat ad-nauseum the same, tired “It’ll be done in a century”

“Finally you have a AAA game made by independent developers for gamers without the much-hated, money-grubbing distributors pushing them to meet this deadline and cram in nonsense like microtransactions and fragment the game into endless DLCs and people STILL complain. lol”

That did not stop them from making premium items when the game is not even ready yet and they sell ships that cost up to a thousand bucks. Dont they have enough money already? They have 140 million.
Please dont stab with a pitchfork please i just throw thought here and there.

          5. why not SCALE it down and expand it later like proper MMO’s do?

Some down-scaling is currently in place due to technical issues on the server side, but that will be ironed out with the new netcode in the works …huge scaling on the entirety of the project is not possible mainly because it is not what the backers asked for. In fact one of the reasons why CIG is nearly hitting the 140 million mark is because their MMO is truly massive and that’s quite a milestone in the gaming industry. In fact I have yet to hear a backer make complains like “This game is too big 4 me”

DNF, FF15, Daikatana, The Last Guardian, Kingdom Hearts III etc…these are totally different projects, in different times with different target markets and also different categories from SC…they are hardly relevant or comparable to what CIG is working on.

          6. “they are hardly relevant or comparable to what CIG is working on.”
CIG is truly a special snowflake eh? Yeah, their dreamgame is quite a milestone before it is released (a milestone in crowdfunding maybe, unless it becomes a milestone in ponzi scheme).

          7. I never used the word special…that’s your narrative. On the whole “it’s a ponzi scheme” hysteria…if you have proof CIG is scamming or committing fraud against their customers, just file a complaint to the competent authorities. Easy.

          8. When you say there is nothing to compare between SC and previous vaporware games that gives special snowflake vibes. If they are scamming or not their costumers is wait and see, how much we have to wait is anybody guess but i woudn’t trust CIG schedule (failed too many times).

          9. “CIG is truly a special snowflake eh”

Yup this seems to be the argument, BASH AND CRITICIZE EVERYTHING, NOT STAR CITIZEN THOUGH WE WILL STAB YOU WITH A PITCHFORK.

This is something that I, someone who is interested into this game but i will wait until its ready and patched, have noticed. I imagine the average folk who criticize the game aw much as the average game that comes out every now and then.

The way i see it there are these tiers or critique

            1. SUCKS, BOO, TRASH…the kind of criticism cod gets and watchdogs 2
            2. Meh, looks disappointing look at that dated graphics. So generic and been there done that.
            3. Looks like a good game ill check it out when its on sale
4.Damn that was nice, let me make a joke about that thing in the trailer. Great game!!
            5. WOW THIS LOOKS AWESOME BEST THING EVER THEY REALLY CARE ABOUT PC GAMING THIS GAME IS OUR “EXCLUSIVE”

All my comments about star citizen are on 4 yet i got responses like i posted something like 2..

            Freaking fanboys.

          10. At least i do hope that the bashing was done by fanbois instead of paid shills. I mean i just made a joke about the amount of time the game is taking to release (not my fault they missed readlines)

          11. oh and another thing, all those games you mention, they did not tease us with endless gameplay videos, they finished the game and then showed to us.

Am not antagonizing anyone, i am just making points and observations but i bet that will make me a hater to the Star citizen fanboys. personally i have accepted that i will have to wait even years after release until its really “ready” and patched but the people who say it takes forever do have a point.

          12. I get that a lot of gamers interested in the project have different levels of frustration regarding the pace of the overall development, as a backer I would definitely include myself as well somewhere in that category…but constantly winning about it in forums, chats, blogs what have you, helps speeding up the pace how again?

On the other hand it surely won’t slow it down, especially now, that the game is picking up momentum with the latest update and the Persistent Universe module just around the corner…so why all this tilting at windmills?

          13. “When it’s freakin’ done, like every other game.”

Ehh no, star citizen is NEVER “freaking done” like any other game. While other projects said “this is what we gonna make and thats about it” Star citizen is like OH, I KNOW ILL ADD THIS INTO THE GAME….and the game is never done. It is like it has to have literally everything in it. Which is not something i am against but atleast you get to play early access games. Atleast you could play gta v and phantom pain single player before the mp launched.

‘No one complained when FF15 took a decade”

Bad example that game was 13 versus, then changed into another game and finally into FF15, it had a troubled development and you had a ton of other final fantasy games to play alongside with it.

“Gamers complain when games take too long to finish and then they complain when games are rushed to market. ”

            True.

          14. No one is patient nowadays but so many people have impossibly high standards. So, they want things done NOW and they want it executed perfectly. They just don’t get how complex development is and think you just flip a switch.

These are the same people who whine about corporate business practices and how bad the big publishers are and here we have RSI developing SC independently, answering only to the fans and backers and people STILL complain. There’s no way to win.

          15. To be fair, most people either gave up on, or stopped caring about FFXV right until the end there as far as I can tell, especially after the train wreck horror show that was FFXIV, but other than that, agreed.

  2. This is how you make a good battlefield singleplayer dice, or dare i say a good starcitizen game.. BUT HUR DUR AN ENTIRE GALAXY, PROCEDURALY GENERATED PLANETS AND WILDLIFE, MINING THE PLANET FOR RESOURCES…yeah no one cares.
