May the Eighth be with you, young Eternity!
That perspective (or variations of it) is the only sane way to play a game in which you have to manage a big party.
other than dragon age origins those games have nothing in common with crpgs at all. also obsidian makes real time crpgs while divinity original sin 2 is a turn based crpg. still, i think they can convince a lot more players to play this type of games if they made something that can be played in third person but with modern graphics and world design.
also grind exists almost in every rpg but crpgs rely on tactics a lot more than grind.
Lol, what? Deadfire has a party of 5. Mass Effect is an action game (3 characters), and DA:O’s party management is horrendous, even with it’s extremely simplistic combat system (for a so called RPG).
You mean Divinity:OS looks like this… bc this looks like Pillars 1…. and Pillars 1 looks like Baldurs Gate 2….. and BG2 looks like BG1 … Planescape … Icewind Dale… etc…
Also, it’s not very cartoony unless you choose to use the cartoony looking characters. Party of 6 humans in full suits of armor doesn’t look cartoony.
