Star Wars Outlaws

New Star Wars: Outlaws trailer shows off some of its planets & moons

Ubisoft has just released a new in-engine trailer for Star Wars: Outlaws that shows off some of its planets and moons. To be more precise, in this video, we get to see the frozen air of Kijimi, the dense jungle of Akiva, the windswept plains of Toshara, and the arid desert of Tatooine.

Star Wars Outlaws is set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. In this game, players will explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new.

Players will assume the role of Kay Vess; an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life. Alongside Vess, players will find her companion Nix. Players will fight, steal, and outwit their way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates as they join the galaxy’s most wanted.

The game will have Ray Tracing effects and support DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction. As NVIDIA’s Jacob has noted, Outlaws will have ray-traced shadows, reflections and RTGI. So, I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on it and testing it.

You can also find its official PC system requirements here. These PC specs are similar to those we got for Avatar. I’m saying this because some people try to push the narrative that the game needs an NVIDIA RTX 3060Ti for 720p. This is wrong on so many levels.

Anyway, Ubisoft will release this new Star Wars game on August 30th.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. Had to watch because I almost got the Ubi subsciption for $1 for the month before my friend pointed out that these "Premium AAAA" games arent covered by it.

        1. same principle with all intro offer type deals. They get you for 1 month for a discount and either hope you forget to/can't cancel or you like the service enough to continue.

          1. not them greedy sumbtches. They won’t allow u to play super new titles, just like the other greedy sumbtches

      1. A lot of subscription services give you the first month for $1 or some crazy ridiculous promotion to get you to sign up in hopes you forget to cancel or like the service enough to keep it. I conflated two separate emails from them regarding the service where the premium advertised new games coming to the platform and a second email offering the service for a $1 for an intro month.

  2. swamp/jungle planet
    africa savana planet
    snow asian monasteries planet
    desert hut planet

    this is it?

Nothing interesting no underwater planet, no volcano planet, no giant mushrooms, no floating islands, no crystal planet? Boring.

    1. Star Wars at this point is the smallest universe in fiction, and the lack of creativity with the IP gets more obvious with every new entry of movie, videogame, book, etc. Very eco friendly tho, with all the recycling Disney does.

    1. Except that Jedi Survivor was running on totally different tech that is known to have those issues. This game is not running on UE. We just gonna ignore that but associate the performance profile because it's another Star Wars game??

      1. right, avatar used the same tech and ran way better than the 12 people who played it expected so i expect this game to be mostly fine as well.

        1. “Additionally, EA says the PC version will be receiving an update “in the coming weeks”. This promises “enhancements to the game’s technical performance, controls and more”, as well as various quality of life improvements.”

I copied this from the Steam forums.

  3. The environments look absolutely enthralling. Leaves moving, pieces of paper twirling around, dust kicking up, the burlap covers of the souks moving in the wind, warm breath condensating in the cold air…. it all makes the world feel far more engrossing and alive than any raytacing could ever do.

Instead of pointless raytracing that craters FPS and doesn't look any better, game developers should focus on physics.

      1. No amount of money can change the basic Laws of Physics …..

All design, I don't care if it is game design or hardware design, is all about the art of compromise …. You have a set power/performance budget and you have still within your budget.

Design not just a science, it is also an art
