Nighttime Studios has shared some new gameplay clips from its upcoming remake of the first System Shock game. System Shock Remake will be using Unreal Engine 4, and these short clips give you an idea of the its aesthetics.
As we’ve already reported, System Shock promises to be a proper remake/remaster of the first System Shock game. Instead of remaking and altering its gameplay mechanics, Nightdive Studios will offer players what they’ve always wanted; a high quality game that adheres closely to the vision of the original System Shock.
Unfortunately, there is still no ETA on when this game will come out. We’ll be sure to keep you posted so until we have more details to share, go ahead and enjoy the following GIFs.

John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”

Looking forward to this one!
If this is official then I’d fire the team behind HUD elements right away. Who needs a constant reminder that we have certain items in the inventory that take away 1/10 vertical screen space? Weapon wheels are the future. Even worse is the compass which can be seen at the top in the last gif… just why? There’s already a minimap and and the level consists of corridors.
The crosshair doesn’t seem to be in center either, instead it’s slightly lowered like in The Outer Worlds which made the whole experience even worse.
Bash on me all you want but this looks bad and I know it’s all WIP, don’t bother reminding.
Well… it’s staying true to the original. But yeah… these day’s i’d rather have the option to toggle it off

This is a quick toolbar, where you can activate 10 items from your inventory via the keyboard buttons 1 to 0. Comes in handy when things get dicey and you have to act fast.
Weapon wheels are good for controllers. Not so much when you use mouse & keyboard.
I believe you mean horizontal screen space.
Nah
Looks good. Excellent!!!
This seems to be taking forever to actually come out.
They restarted the game about 2 years in.
Unity demo still looked way better and closer to the original game. I almost wish they adopted UE4 right from the start so we didn’t have anything to compare it to. Unreal engine games all have the same heavy oversaturated pallet.
New ideas or gtfo!
Don’t get the love people have over old stuff.
Move on guys, this is already in the past, and it’s better to leave it there where we have good memories of it.
Imagine saying this to the Street Fighter devs…
“Nighttime Studios”
It’s Nightdive Studios, lol.
