Deep Silver and Codemasters today revealed a new gameplay trailer for their latest racing game, GRID. GRID promises to revive the franchise with this latest entry, which confusingly uses the same title as the first game.
The new trailer tears through corners across a sampling of GRID’s gorgeous streetside race locations, following spoke-to-spoke packs of competitors through the vibrant blocks of Havana, twisting mainway of Barcelona, glistening stretches of rain-slickened night roads, and more.
GRID promises to let drivers forge their story the way they prefer. The game will feature a dynamic Teammate, Rival and Nemesis systems. Drivers can hire commandable on-track allies and elevate conflicts with their most despised competitors as they see fit.
It’s also worth noting that GRID will be using the EGO Engine; an engine that Codemasters used in pretty much all of its racing games. Moreover, the game will support both DX11 and DX12, and will require 100GB of free hard-disk space.
GRID is currently planned for an October 11th release. It will also be playable at Gamescom 2019 for all attendees.
Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!

I dont get why people like these controlled track racing games, the tracks you race are generic and samey.
Because CLEARLY you’re not actually a racing game enthusiast lool… it’s ALL about shaving time and the ACTUAL competitive racing experience.. Let me guess you’re more of the Forza Horizon series fan lool..? The issue with open world racing games is that the racing is actually dogshit, not competitive and the map itself is just long windy roads all stitched together so that small sections of the map can be sectioned off to make a race track for it’s events, Those games are fun but they’re bad racing games they’re just playgrounds with cars in them.
You may see these tracks are ‘samey’ but they require a LOT more to master than the generic open worlds you are given in these open world racing games ill tell you that as a fact.
but its so repetitive. The worst part of underground 2 was the controlled closed track races, so boring. You played a bunch of these games you played them all. There is no variety or interesting gameplay, grandturismo, pro street, shift, grid, whats the difference?
The developer.
That’s like saying Sports games are boring because you can’t shoot someone out of a cannon
Tracks are updated all the time, Fuji speedway is not the same track from the 80’s, the cars are faster with the additional benefit of racing the old ones. I don’t think I need to go much further with this.
in undergound 2 you race in the same closed track or airport.
Is not your genre mate, think on the bright side..at least is not Nascar.
Boring TO YOU.. but certainly not boring by definition… once again you clearly dont play rcing games in any competitive fashion… You play open world racers for the open endedness and unpredictability of the open world meaning ACTUAL RACING/DRIVING isn’t your main focus it’s what you can do in the world…
I (and millions of others) love the competitiveness, feeling and experience of track based racers and the differences are easy to see as each have their own handling model, sound, damage model and competitive nuance. but in these open world racers you love to play in WHATS THE POINT of having this big ol’ open world with NOTHING to do in them AT ALL!! They’re literally just these hollow spaces where you drive from point A to point B to do a race that’s checkpoint based to have SOME semblance of structure…
i dont see how doing 5 freaking long races with tons of laps in a closed environment in a underground racing game is fun.
“WHATS THE POINT of having this big ol’ open world with NOTHING to do in them AT ALL” Dude there are like a bazillion of races in those maps.
Bazillion races…? And..? You have the same amount of races in Track based racers..? I dont understand your logic its just dumb lool.. The MAP ITSELF is just empty you’re just driving through it and not interacting with it so what difference does it make being in an open world theres literally NO POINT of it.
Once again YOU might not see it but we do.. I told you, The competitive quality of racing is what we love! At iconic global race tracks with driving disciplines and strategies. It’s honestly as simple as that. But you can enjoy both but to completely dismiss one which is the more popular one is just stupid lool
what exactly you want to do in the map?
Something.. anything…You seem to not see a point of closed race tracks but we do that’s the whole pointt! It’s liek in open world games liek Assassin’s creed vs like GTA V.. both have incredibly big open worlds but one is a LOT more bland because theres no justification for the open world other than to be pretty and for you to travel A to B.. it’s stupid…
Forza Horizon is more realistic then this crap WTH are going on about?
??????????????????????????????????????????????!! Oh dear god! This is what i mean.. people like you are SOO deluded its insane!!! How on god’s green earth can you consider a racing game where you can have a Post Office Van, Limo a 3 wheeled car AND a Truck all in the same race in an open ended track more realistic than a sim-cade track based racer with a comprehensive car model and CLEAR mastering skill based game loop…?
You’re ACTUALLY deluded and dont actually play racing games because of the racing! plain and simple
To be honest, i had more pleasure and i was more involved with the 1st GRID than on games like FH3 and FH4.
I hope that this one is “back to the root”
I prefer tracks. Actually learning the intricacies of the curves and pavement is real racing. Not plowing through trees and winning races with no skill or effort.
and taking shortcuts at 240 while jumping over heights and be chased by cops…now thats fun.
Good enough I guess.
The video quality is bad…
Like the way your mom licks.
It’s DX12 only. No DX11 support.
About time. Dx11 needs to go.
Win10 sux!
Yuck to you
Meh . So not tasteful . Halleh no .
I hate when 2 games have the same name without the subtitle. It’s disrespectful for the original game and misleading.
I dunno. This looks like a clone of the original, with some graphics tweaks. Even the tracks shown so far have been all identical. So maybe having the same name was on purpose.
A bit too arcade for my tastes.
too generic and not worth that 100GB of hdd space
Bring the Grid bb!
