New E3 2019 trailer for Remedy’s Control showcases Ray Tracing effects

NVIDIA has released a brand new E3 2019 trailer for Remedy’s upcoming supernatural game, Control, showcasing its real-time ray tracing effects. Control is powered by the Northlight Engine and Remedy will be using real-time ray tracing for reflections, contact shadows, diffuse global illumination and transparent reflections.

The game is described as a sandbox-style, gameplay-driven experience that promises to challenges players to master a combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments while fighting through the deep and mysterious worlds Remedy is known and loved for.

Tech-wise, we are really interested in Control as it will be using the same engine powering Quantum Break. Quantum Break remains one of the most demanding PC games and its lighting system is truly gorgeous, even for today’s standards. As such, and since Control will also be taking advantage of Ray Tracing, we are really curious about its performance on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti.

Control targets an August 27th release on the PC.

Enjoy!

  1. Can’t lie, those floors do not look right being that shiny. They look weird and fake. I feel like RTX off looks better to the eye, even if less accurate.

  2. A new Trailer! …..and it’s the same content over and over 🙁
the only graphical thing this has better than Quantum Break is reflections. characters and environments are easily better in Quantum break. QB also had pretty good screen space reflections. worth noting.

    1. Please do understand that character models and environments (scope) are mostly budget limited, not tech limited.
Control’s budget is visibly much less than Quantum Break. There is only so many art assets you can produce with X millions.

Control is an impressive tech package, but on a smaller scale because it’s not “AAA” by standard definitions.

    1. We’ve scheduled a lot of news that will get published in the following hours, it’s one of them 😉

  3. God damn is that impressive looking, one of the better uses of the technology offered by NVIDIA that has come along so far!

  4. Quantum Break was a technical tour-de-force, and runs very well in its DX11 rendition.
I have great expectations for Control. I assume it will about as demanding without ray tracing, and will demolish a 2080ti at 1440p with everything maxed.

    Can’t wait.

  5. Why oh why does this have to be an Epic exclusive? Maybe it will show up on Microsoft store too…..
