Mortal Kombat 1 feature

Mortal Kombat 1’s Story Mode has been leaked online

It appears that the entire Story Mode of the new MK game, Mortal Kombat 1, has been leaked online. The following leaked video is over 3 hours in length and showcases all the single-player cut-scenes that are present in the game.

Now the bad news here is that the leaked video is of really low quality. For most people, it won’t be worth watching. However, a lot of YouTube channels will rip it in order to share small clips from it. I’ve already seen clips on YouTube from the final boss fight. So, expect to get tons of them in the coming days.

Mortal Kombat 1 will release on September 19th. The game will be using Unreal Engine 4, and here are its official PC system requirements.

As we’ve already reported, the game will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech at launch. In theory, Warner Bros will most likely remove it one or two years after release. After all, that’s exactly what the publisher did with Mortal Kombat 11.

Moreover, QLOC has removed the “Cross-Platform Multiplayer“ tag from the game’s Steam store page. From the looks of it, its inclusion was a mistake and nothing more. This didn’t surprise me as Warner Bros claimed that Mortal Kombat 1 would support cross-play between PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. And yes, QLOC will be handling the PC version (in other words, it won’t be developed in-house by NetherRealm Studios).

Those interested can go ahead and watch here the leaked Mortal Kombat 1 Story Mode video. From what I’ve seen, no one has uploaded it on YouTube yet, which makes sense as Warner Bros will immediately take it down.

Stay tuned for more!

      1. Considering how quick matches are, the whole story mode likely clocks in around three and a half hours. This ain’t no Street Fighter 6 with whole a*s hubworlds, main quests, side quests, and secrets.

    1. The original MK on Genesis would have cost $60 or $70. Back in 1993 that was like spending around $130 today. Games are literally the only industry that I can think of where pricing has basically stayed constant despite inflation and development costs growing exponentially. They’ve been able to maintain that pricing thanks to the consumer base growing sizeably over the years, but realistically, these publishers would be fully in their right to raise prices even more. So please, stop whining about game pricing. We have it pretty good compared to basically every other industry

      1. LMAO , what? You can get movies for like $10, maybe $15 max these days, which would be about $8 or $10 back in the same era. Movies back then cost around $40 – $50, or more on occasion.

Same goes for music, and same goes for books.

What is it with you folks who have this delusion that the gaming industry is doing us some sort of favor with their pricing? It’s the most cancerous, deceiving, money-sucking industry in the entertainment sector, by a country mile.

        1. The way that Publishers really make big money on games these days is with microtransactions. That increases the real cost of the game for the average gamer. I recall Ubisoft saying several years ago that they were now making more revenue from MTs than from the actual sales of the games themselves.

I never have and never will spend money on MTs but I’m in a small minority on that obviously when you look at the billions and billions of dollars spent on MTs every year.

          1. Right. As long as you avoid micro transactions and whatnot, gaming is such a hugely better value these days than when I was a kid

        2. VHS tapes, from what I remember, ran $15-$25. Which back then was a sizeable amount of money. Today a 4K Blu-ray (the comparable top physical medium) runs $30-$40 right at release. A VHS was equivalent to spending as much as $52 today. Yes, the gaming industry introduced many an alternate revenue stream. Pay to win, subscriptions, loot boxes, etc. But the core pricing of games has remained more or less consistent for over 3 decades. That’s incredible. My dad taking me to the movies when I was a kid would cost him $10. Today it costs me $40 to take me and my fiancée out to the movies. Every form of entertainment has gotten more expensive while gaming has stayed the same so long as you avoid the fluff. So again I say, stop whining.

  1. I’m gonna get MK 1 eventually. I’m just tired of its cinematic story mode. It’s been using the same cinematic story mode since MK 9. Enough already. Time to change things up a bit. I’m not saying I want something exactly like SF 6’s World Tour mode, but I do want something similar to it.

  2. Congrats to all the black people on this site who somehow managed to afford a gaming PC.
We’re not going to ask how because that would be racist.

  3. Well, there were already some videos from story in good quality (like this video in english with subs). Just not the complete story.

I wonder how much effort they put into it. Given the fact that its restart. But at least these cutscenes are well made.
