Microsoft Flight Simulator gets an official gameplay trailer

Microsoft has released an official gameplay trailer for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Microsoft Flight Simulator is the next generation of one of the most beloved simulation franchises. This trailer showcases the game’s incredible graphics.

Microsoft Flight Simulator currently targets a 2020. As we’ve already reported, the game may receive support for real-time ray tracing. However, nothing is set on stone yet. Still, it will be interesting to see how RT will further enhance the game’s already impressive graphics.

Players will be able to fly highly detailed and stunning aircraft in an incredibly realistic world. Players will also be able to create their flight plan and fly anywhere on the planet. Furthermore, the game will have day/night environments, as well as challenging weather conditions.

Last but not least, Microsoft is currently looking into adding VR support to Flight Simulator.

Enjoy!

    1. Yeah. The thing is you download the textures while you u fly… So you if you dont have a good internet connection then……

      1. I’m sure they have a texture compression algorithm that minimizes the amount of data you need to download on the fly.

        1. The map is 2 petabyte….
          Its 2000 GB
Even if you se like 1% when you fly its still 20GB….. So if you dont have fiber be ready for some loading screens

          1. Ok so I just looked it up and the 2 PB refers to the data required to MAKE the map. It is not the size of the map itself.

The actual map itself is waaay smaller.

The entire map is hosted on Microsoft’s Azure Cloud service and the actual patches of land the player downloads are just a fraction of the (already reduced) map.

I really don’t think this issue didn’t cross the developers minds as even they wouldn’t have the bandwidth required to stream 2 PB’s of data.

          2. I have no idea how it will work in real time gaming. And no one knows for sure how it works.
But even if it compressed your pc will have to run the game and download + decompress + put that data in game on the fly… ….
I rly wanna se how it works.

          3. I think it will work fine. you are forgetting how damn huge the earth is. it is about 510,000,000 square kilometers. the entire map is 2,000,000 gigabytes. a plane going over the earth isn’t incredibly fast in relativity to how big the earth is. I doubt it will use much data if you even do a 3 hour flight. look at gps maps. you can download quality map of anywhere in the planet in seconds. This honestly isn’t going to use much data

        2. There is an offline cache system, serviceable but i guess they are nowhere near as good but i don’t care, as long as it have the offline mode or even ability to update offline caches to update your game’s look i can be happy.

  1. So, a full six years after the ‘power of the cloud’ hype surrounding the launch of Xbox One we finally at long last see Microsoft deliver on their promise on Windows PC.

  2. Arguably the greatest looking open-world environments seen in a game ever! HOLY *bleep*!
Amazing trailer with awesome music and editing!
