  1. Well it certainly has intrigue going for it. Happy to see Kojima also go out of his way to make a PC port eventually.

    1. Japanese developers have offered much to the gaming medium. They’ve innovated plenty of genres for example, Kojima (MGS/Stealth Genre), Miyazaki (Souls/RPG), Capcom (Street Fighter/ Fighting genre, Devil May Cry/ Hack n Slash etc). I’m not saying western devs haven’t offered much to the gaming industry but I’m saying Japanese devs have offered much as well.

      1. If they want to sell Yakuza gangster games in the west Sega should put them all on PC, I really mean it as PC gamers buys lots of Japanese games.

        1. Probably could in the future. Japanese developers are showing much greater interest in PC for a while now.

          1. Yakuza Kiwami PS4 Gameplay – 1080p, 60 FPS – First Hour (on youtube by uploader Dualshockers) shows Yakuza the original remake now renamed Yakuza Kiwami. All it needs is English subtitles and a PC port so they can sell it digitally in west. As they said, its much more of a remake than a remaster. The first one was on PS2 in the west but they had dubbed it into English!! A horrible decision. But yeah please if you are on social media please tell SEGA Japan, SEGA Europe, SEGA USA that we want Yakuza Kiwami on Steam!

      2. The Japanese Video Game Industry have offered much to the PlayStation medium, specifically.

Yes, they’ve done a lot of innovations that have carried over into multi-platform territory, but overall they’ve been overwhelmingly squarely focused on the PlayStation until recent years.

Not to mention how much even their quality has dropped in recent years. DMC: Devil May Cry? Dark Souls II & III? Resident Evil? etc. etc. etc. CAPCOM is insane, Namco Bandai has psychotic-delusional tendencies, etc. Off the top of my head, the only “top tier” studios I can name from Japan right now are PlatinumGames, & (most likely) Kojima Productions once they actually develop something, since right now they’re being carried literally by name recognition alone.

  2. Not SONY exclusive!!! “this new game from Kojima Productions will be coming on both PS4 and PC”!! Read above!

  3. I’m still not sure if this game is really gonna be released on PC. After that one time they said it in the Q&E, they never made an attempt to confirm it was true, they only said the game was being released on the PS4.

I hope it does come to PC, but I wanted a confirmation to that statement, just to be sure.

    1. How are his games overrated though? They aren’t perfect sure but overrated? nah, I disagree.

      1. Phantom Pain was overrated. Arguably one of the weakest Metal Gear entries. Bloody rush job if I’ve ever seen one.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s got a lot of strengths, but it’s also got a lot of weaknesses. Unfortunately since it’s Kojima, nobody is going to call them out in long lists the likes of which EA gets (ala-Dragon Age 3: Inquisition).

Footnote: To be fair, I’m not even sure if it is Kojima’s fault. Maybe Konami pressured him into rushing it through production, maybe Kojima just didn’t give a f*ck anymore (he’d been wanting to quit MG for years), maybe….. who knows.

      2. 9s and 10s for an unfinnished game with bad design. not saying all of them, i just meant the last MGS game and it’s not my opinion about kojima or this new game, just MGSV.

        1. I will admit it’s not perfect and has it’s problems. It felt unfinished yes but honestly I don’t know if Konami is to blame for that. Call it a conspiracy theory but at the end of the day we don’t really know what caused the falling out between Kojima and Konami. I honestly liked the level design but one thing I disliked was how all the missions and side ops felt the same. Granted there’s magnitudes of gameplay options, it still felt like lazy design. I thought perhaps that was due to Kojima not really having much experience with open world games.

Out of all the MGS games, it does have the weakest story. An open world design will arguably cause that. However, the idea imo was great and unique, how Skullface’s plan was to use languages as wmd. Kojima is known for his creativity with regards to plot. That being said, the over abundance of tapes coupled with missions that didn’t really feel like main story missions resulted in a really disappointing narrative. At the end of the day I didn’t mind that much because I was so addicted to the gameplay, the soldier recruiting etc, i honestly just couldn’t get enough of it. Gameplay wise, it’s definitely the best MGS game, but as the complete package, it’s possibly the weakest one.

          1. “Konami is to blame for that”
Yeah it’s possible but Kojima did revealed the game way sooner that it was ready and spent too much time & money on it, maybe it was because of the new engine and developing that.

“liked the level design but one thing I disliked was how all the missions and side ops felt the same”
That’s my point for calling it a bad design, it was just like ubisoft’s open world games but worst.

    2. considering how talented kojima is and the crap hes been through, maybe a little respect for a talented man is in order? You want overrated? look no farther than cod or halo or assassins creed, not kojima

  4. 100% sure this is the FOX engine, but how did they manage to get the rights to use it, i thought it belonged to Konami.

    1. You can achieve similar graphic results in many game engines. If you happen to be extremely talented with shader programming.
