Here is the intro scene from the first Unreal game being recreated in Unreal Engine 4

Unreal was a really mind-blowing game – graphics and tech wise – when it was released back in 1998. And who can forget that mesmerising fly-by intro scene? Ah, the memories. But anyway, YouTube’s ‘Tomasz Szab?owski’ has recreated that scene in Unreal Engine 4. Tomasz has done an outstanding job, although I do have to note that I really miss the fog effects that are nowhere to be found in the UE4 recreation. Moreover, I feel that the moonlight is too strong. Nevertheless, it’s a pretty cool recreation so be sure to check it out (we’ve also included the original fly-by intro scene).

    1. I never liked Rune. I prefer DS9 the fallen which was a much better game released at the same time.

  1. awful, anyway unreal is one of the best games ever created, the atmosphere the ai, the fact it had story and puzzles while it was a shooter. Cliffy B hinted he wants to remake it as a open world shooter, not a bad idea, but to be honest after unreal it was all downhill for epic games, unreal tournament was good but not a sequel unreal 2 while hated by many it had some nice environments and i like the universe with the skarj. Then you got UT 2003 that was meh and they finally made ut2004 which was 2003 with a bazillion of mods, then that abomination called gears of war and ut3. Both horrible.

    1. UT2004 is one of the best PC games ever and UT3 isn’t that bad. Lot’s of people still play both games.

    1. I expect a lot more from the Unreal 4 engine. It certainly doesn’t have the same effect on you as the original Unreal intro.

  2. Unreal was (to me) one of the top 5 games i have ever played.
Pity they stopped making a single player one

    🙁
