Alien: Isolation is considered one of the best aliens games to date. However, did you know that The Creative Assembly was experimenting with a third-person perspective prior to the game’s release? At this year’s GDC, The Creative Assembly presented a video, showing the game in third-person mode. During development, however, The Creative Assembly decided to abandon this mode in favour of a first-person perspective. Enjoy the video after the jump!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. This is still in first person,Whats with the title?
edit : for some reason wrong video was played its ok now
I wish they kept the option for TP.
I’m glad they went with first-person. I hope they saw that VR was going to become popular so they decided to go first-person in order to accommodate the new tech.
I don’t care if it takes a few years – Alien Isolation will still look gorgeous years from now!
Right decision
This is definitely less scary. I’m happy they went with FP camera.
As much as I love the first person view, how nice would have been if they give the people who doesn’t like the option? You know, that’s what means to appeal to a wider audience IMO, options, choice (I know that A:I appeals to a niche, but still).
And yes, I’ve found this way less scary, way less atmospheric, but ultimately, different people, different approaches, same game. 🙂
