Star Wars Outlaws feature-2

Here are ten minutes of brand new gameplay footage from Star Wars Outlaws

IGN has shared a video, showcasing ten minutes of gameplay footage from Star Wars Outlaws. This video pretty much has everything; from in-engine cut-scenes to planet exploration and battles. So, make sure to watch it.

Going into more details, this video shows off the classic desert planet of Tatooine. The mission showcased here sees Kay on a journey involving a Jawa and a Sarlacc pit.

Star Wars Outlaws is set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. In this game, players will explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new.

Players will assume the role of Kay Vess; an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life. Alongside Vess, players will find her companion Nix. Players will fight, steal, and outwit their way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates as they join the galaxy’s most wanted.

The game will have Ray Tracing effects and support DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction. Ubisoft and NVIDIA haven’t shared more details about these effects yet. Personally, I think we might get RTGI, like the one we saw in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Ubisoft will release this new Star Wars game on August 30th.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

      1. Of course becase,I remember when Physx was a thing, before Nvidia purchased Ageia.
The competition was not only graphics, but also physx in games, like Force Unleashed, mafia 2,mirror's edge(later),Gta 4,etc. for xbox360/ps3 era…look at crackdown 2 vs the "next gen" one.
Back then ,Euphoria vs Ageia vs Havok was the battle, after Nvidia locking Ageia's API for themselves,Physx were able only if you had an Nvidia GPU,while from Ps4 and Xbox one till present, Sony and Microsoft use Amd chipsets, that is why gameplay wise games are not realistic in gameplay, either you develop an physics engine from scratch or use havok, because euphoria and ageia are now owned by nvidia and since consoles use amd,as a developers you aim the mass.

          1. Ageia PhysX was a different Api that could be added to any engine,Unreal Engine is for rendering,Havok or Euphoria were physics engines, same was Ageia PhysX.
Since Nvidia purchased Ageia, physX is locked to Nvidia’s GPU’s only, while Euphoria vanished and Havok is dated as F.
Try Mafia 2 original PC,with PhysX enabled, has nothing to do with render engine(Autodesk).

          2. yes and like i said everyone using unreal so they use whatever tech unreal has instead of third party stuff.

          3. Blame Nvidia then, for locking(patent)features that previous were for everyone.
PhysX,Cuda(workstations),RayTracing(i know Amd has a solution but not as good as Nvidia's code),Dlss, etc forcing you,the buyer to pay for trademark same as Coca Cola company.
They patented the recipe,so any other producer of cola juice never have the same taste as Coca Cola.
Same happens in Gaming, remember when WB patented nemesis system used in shadow of mordor/war?
I'm not saying Nvidia is the main villain,i say gaming is an industry to make money, not a fan service for some time now.
That is why most of us play old games and to proove that gaming is an industry not fan service anymore, they remaster and remake old games that sold.
Unreal Engine is a great Engine, the problem is…well, one is to have capable people at work for technical parts(programming, design etc) and other is to copy assets and use them random, later to fail.
Look at TLOU2(non UE),from technical standpoint for its time is unbeaten, game story and plots suck, but as looks and low bugs nr shines, same can be said of Callisto Protocol on UE, looks amazing on Ps5 in quality mode,as a game is boring fest.
            Greed is the problem nowdays.

          4. you needed cards to use physx back when it was ageia physx it wasnt for everyone.

          1. For Force Unleashed 1 and 2,they ended using euphoria for physics as both games use rockstars RAGE engine,i remember the logo on PSP version.
DMM was scraped, shame, because look how games are today, them look crispy and HD but with no life in them.
No matter how realistic graphics is without good physics look robotic.
PS: i searched and yes, force unleashed 1 and 2 ended up using euphoria
All in all,i miss the good old days when games camed ready day one,no patches,no microtransactions and mostly the full game was on disc not a client to later download the game(what is the purpose of having physical discs if without internet they are only a colourfull case and a useless disc?).
Imagine owning the disc version of Cyberpunk 2077 and not having internet.

          2. They did use Euphoria for the character models, but select materials in the world did use DMM. The large metal doors that you could force push open is one example. The reason it wasn't used heavily is because it's such a pain to implement. So much so that they had to have the third party company that created DMM, Pixelux, come in and help the LucasArts dev team implement it in the game, which was crazy expensive. Euphoria is also really expensive to get a license for, Disney and Rockstar are the only ones I know of that use it. Today, I believe DMM is only used by movie studios.

      2. they became less scripted and open world…and thats about it…also rpg mechanics and looter shooter mechanics.

        1. more and more detail with everything but some of the most popular games are almost a decade old built with even older tools.

    1. Maybe because they play in performance mode on a ps5 or series x…performance modes on consoles= low/medium settings with resolution cuts…while quality modes offer high/very high settings with higher res but locked 30fps.

  1. Boring Gameplay
    Bland Protagonist
    Bland Environments .
    Cringe Dialogues .
    Padded Open word .
    …..yes its certified Ubisoft slop

  2. holy balls, this really looks legit bad, that intro scene with the explosion looked legit bad, its like she was falling with fps lag.. I didn't expect anything else from Ubi but still.. Anyway, its bland and uninteresting characters. then also the ugly main protagonist who can probably down a 6'4 man with her pinky, no thanks, skip.

  3. all nice and all, but how will it perform ? Stutter microstutter and or framepacing issues ? thats the real question

    1. It could be the most optimized game in the world and nobody that still has standards would touch this with a 20 foot pole because of how utterly bland and uninspiring this game will be.

    2. The real question ? Like why the character looks like a sandal, why the gameplay looks so boring, why Ubisoft are still making flat open worlds with generic content, why it plays like any other open world from the last 15 years are just useless questions ?

      1. I was wondering what are the similarities between a sandal and a human being so I looked up the word sandal on google and realized any of these feet pics could be a dude's feet.
Never jerking off to feet again, unless the p*ssy is in the video too.

  4. Gameplay loops seems engaging enough. I wonder if this whole quest is scripted or if its like a dynamic random quest.

      1. i watched the trailer on a smaller screen at first and thought it was fine until a friend pointed out how much the quality drops when the bomb rolls under her. Im kinda just lost at how snowdrop engine made that avatar game looks amazing but it seems everything else that comes out of ubisoft gets a downgrade every single time lol. Also Im kinda a fan of the SW universe generally but no games really did what i think outlaws attempts so im willing to give it a try. Even if its mid/fine gameplay the universe will be cool enough kinda like with that harry potter game or like 95% of warhammer games lol.

    1. I noticed in one of the other gameplay videos that there is a younger version of her during some sort of flashback scene. That model looks far more feminine and attractive which gives me some vague hope that a model swap mod could be done.

    1. Why is their a black guy in a game about ancient Japan? We will never get answers to either of the idiotic decisions.

    1. its a ubisoft game about going to different regions and recruiting quirky progressive characters by doing stupid quests for them.

      1. it probably won’t bother me too much, the only ubisoft games I’ve played since 2015 have been r6 and the sequel to the South Park RPG.

  5. Star Wars games are the most prostituted games ever. Last I checked there are over 100 of them over the decades and I can count on one hand how many were truly good. The vast majority are just mediocre half-as*ed attempts by Developers who rely on the Star Wars name to sell the game even though it's not really worth buying.

Throw one more on the pile.

    1. The franchise has been around for decades as well. It makes sense that there are good, bad and mid games developed using the IP. Theres probably like a pretty good portion that are garbage like how most games in general are garbage and of course we will only remember the good ones. This one however doesnt look straight up like garbage, maybe about as fine as the respawn games just from what's been shown.

        1. i guess that’s where subjectivity comes in because a lot of people liked fallen order and survivor but I thought those looked mediocre. Personally this is the first one that looked kinda interesting to me since lego star wars lol.

          1. I wasnt a fan of the gameplay in either of them as souls-likes that arent that great and I already tried the action adventure jedi fantasy as star killer in force unleashed. I wasnt too interested in this originally but this seemed different enough to be hopeful for and I don’t recall a star wars game where you play as a scoundrel in this way.

      6, empire at war
      7. republic commando
      8. bounty hunter

      11. torgue squadron
      12. pod racing
      13. star fighter
      14. shadows of the empire
      15. x wing

      17. knights of the old republic 2
      18. battlefront
      19. battlefront 2

      21. jedi survivor
There are plenty of good star wars games

  6. Click video

Arrives at a jawa , very friendly when they are usually hostile, asks for a turret.

    Robots translates "she said"

HAHAHAHAHAHA EVEN THE FCKING JAWAS ARE FEMALE.

I once again repeat my last comment, the main character female, the bounty hunter chasing her, female, the legendary gunslinger she recruits, female, the bomb maker she is looking for, female, the queen and her bodyguard, female, the imperial officer escorted by two troopers, also female, the random storm trooper she uses her purse puppy to distract, also female, its not just the force that is female in this game, its the entire fcking universe.

    1. HAHAHAHAHA EVEN THE PIRATE LEADER IS FEMALE, also yes x360 era squezzing through holes in the wall and the sarlacc walls have x360 textures as well, how is this game a thing how?

As for gameplay, i mean look at it, under the word mediocre in the dictionary you can find this game as an example.

    2. Ghost Tsushytema had pretty much all females despite one or two exceptions it's pretty ridiculous marxist nonsense. What's worse is this one obviously features a ladeeboi if you have half a clue.

  7. This whole franchise makes my skin crawl it's soo cringey and a putrid walking corpse. 3 movies 70s-80s that's it the rest is just a stinking pile.

  8. It's hard to tell the actual quality of the graphics with this piss poor video conversion with all it's blocking and banding ….. They need to record at a higher bit rate or the YouTube encoder will smear everything

  9. I wouldn’t even pirate this game unless there was a mod to make that girl not so hideous. I’d literally hate myself every second I decided to continue looking at her ugly face. Same reason I couldn’t watch the last of us tv show. The incredibly ugly girl. And all the lgbt stuff.

  10. I just cannot believe the comments down there about a new AAA+ Open World game … set in the STAR WARS universe.

ten years ago? the heat of the hype of this thing would've melted our CPUs just by reading the comments on pages like this — Assassin's Creed But Star Wars!

and yeah, I just absolutely concur — why bother? why care? what is there to be excited about? Ubislop open world with lots of ???'s, set in a universe I honestly cannot stand anymore.

something very very seriously wrong has happened to Star Wars. something that happened in the last 10 years or so. and I think I know what it is.

that's right — they CGI'd Yoda in Phantom Menace. shaaaaame. SHAME.
