Deep Silver has released a new video, showing 20 minutes of gameplay footage from its upcoming survival game, Windbound. In this gameplay first look Mitch Clifford, the co-founder and lead animator at 5Lives Studios, takes us through a few parts of the first two island chapter.
Players will get to find out a bit more about the mysterious towers and learn some hints and tips for hunting, crafting, sailing. According to the developers, the islands are alive with magic and enchantment telling the tales of their origin and revealing the role Kara unknowingly plays in it as each artifact that she unearths unlocks a new clue to her past.
Windbound is a survival game, featuring nomadic hunting and exploration. The game will also have custom boat building and an immersive sailing experience. Additionally, it will provide endless rogue-like replayability options thanks to the procedural world, dynamic wildlife, and modular boat crafting.
The game will release on August 28th, and below you can also find the its key features as well as its official PC system requirements.

Those gigantic structures are cool and epic the rest is meh.
another day another trash.
Looks like Zelda Wind Waker except without the Zelda magic and an ugly protagonist. Skip.
it looks cool but they need to work on the character size and the environment
Ugh, I hate it when developers blatantly copy other games. It happened with Minecraft, it happened with Demon’s/Dark Souls, it happened with the entire battle royale genre, and now it’s happening with BotW. People seem to miss out on the entire point being that those games were not just good, they were ORIGINAL. It was one of the main reasons they stood out so much. Poorly copying games always just shows me that the devs are incompetent at creating their own vision for their game, and that it’s not even worth the time looking at.
Not everyone played BotW.
But I hear you. I wish people would stop copying Elite. Why do games need to be more than 23kbs anyways? :p
let see
I’m going to wait till there are some reviews, but I am interested in this. I love this aesthetic but I haven’t personally played many of the other games that have used something similar, so that’s a nice thing for me. I also love exploration in any game, and the inclusion of sailing just really seals it for me. I’m intrigued.
