Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord has been in development for ages now. To be honest I was never interested in this game since I found the first one mediocre at best. Bannerload looks better, that’s for sure, but still far from something interesting, at least for me.
My major complaint is the combat and how fast it really is. Most of these melee games have terrible third person animations and the movement is very fast. I prefer games that lock you into combat like For Honor (one of the few things that game got right).
I have played most of these games, even the disastrous War of the Vikings and none of these games even managed to keep me playing. I will admit though the sieges looks awesome, but I doubt it will be enough to make me wanna play it.
Enjoy 20 minutes of beta gameplay.
There is no official release yet. The game is scheduled for release somewhere in 2020.
Chris was born in the early 80’s along with the very birth of home gaming. After spending many maaany drachmas on arcades, his father decided to buy him a PC instead of going bankrupt. He lived through the advancing and development of the gaming industry, having played TONS of games on all platforms. He is always honest and will never hesitate to give his true opinion on a game no matter what. Loves stealth games and dislikes microtsansactions, DLC and pre-ordering…who doesn’t after all?!

7+ years of development and having the same old combat system is so dissapointing. As a big fan of the previous games i expected more than a graphic overhaul (wich look very dated by today stardards btw). I know it will have imporvements in other areas, but c’mon that combat is 1:1 in regards of the first M&B and need huge improvements (cough, Mordhau, cough). The clunckyness of a 2000’s combat system is huge
Don’t fix what isn’t broken. I’ll take M&B’s simpler and more grounded combat system over the physics-defying ballerina jankfest of Mordhau and Shitvalry any day of the week.
mordhau is an improvement but still pretty much exploitable.
Literally nothing wrong with the old combat system which is improved.
You want flashy but less depth sh*t go play some other game.
It looks a good deal better visually and the combat system was always fine.
Looks mediocre, disappointing.
Im not interested in competitive multiplayer in this game personally, its not why I loved the first game or Warband. For me it has taken too long for this game to get made now and every time I see a new video, I become less interested in it.
The animations are the exact same animations from M&B1, thats not necesarily a bad thing but it shows they havent bothered with that. There just seems to be too much emphasis on competitive multiplayer for my liking.
As usual, online multiplayer ruins everything.
Looks like a last gen game.
I’m so disappointed that the graphics look exactly like in the Mount & Blade 1 with just improved lighting.
That game was also heavily outdated when it came out
lool i thought this game was released years ago
Really don’t care the game plays exactly the same combat wise i’m just looking forward to the campaign improvements and vastly superior editor available for modders
I liked the original M&B, played a lot of of it, especially the LOTR mod (the Last Days of The Third Age) but the sequel is looks exactly like the original in terms of combat. Have no idea why it’s taking them so long to release it.
