IGN has shared a new video, showing 13 minutes of new gameplay footage from Half-Life: Alyx. In this video, Valve’s Robin Walker and Corey Peters walk us through an extended look at one of Half-Life: Alyx’s earlier levels, including fighting zombies, upgrading your pistol, and the terror that is being stalked by headcrabs in VR.
Half-Life: Alyx is Valve’s VR return to the Half-Life series. The game tells the story of an impossible fight against a vicious alien race known as the Combine. Furthermore, the game is set between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2.
In Half-Life: Alyx, players will immerse themselves in deep environmental interactions, puzzle solving, world exploration, and visceral combat. Players will lean to aim around a broken wall and under a Barnacle to make an impossible shot. Players will also rummage through shelves to find a healing syringe and some shotgun shells.
Last but not least, Valve sees Half-Life: Alyx as a return to the Half-Life franchise. This could probably mean that the team will release more Half-Life games in the near future.
Half-Life: Alyx will come out on March 23rd.

Shall I say the best looking VR game to date?!
Easily with out question, Source 2 looks really freaking nice!
I am sick of saying it but they better make these three following conventional games in this engine and in the next few years: Half Life 3, Portal 3 and Left 4 Dead 3
Finger massively crossed it will all happen!
Graphics look awesome for sure but for Me this title will always be a constant reminder of what Half Life 3 could of been and it freaking feels bad Man. I don’t think I will ever get over the decision to release a VR title first over Half Life 3 / a conventional game.
I played massive amounts of The House Of the Dead 2 on My DC and Area 51, Virtua Cop, Time Crisis, etc before that in the Arcades and loved them all to death because it was smooth, really fast and worked. In this video the constant stop go and awkward zoom in gave Me massive motion sickness and I am not even hooked up to VR. At this point until we have Lawnmower Man style hanging apparatus in our flats for awesome real free movement VR is going to be a hard pass for Me.
Those that have VR I am sure you are juiced out of your minds right now, this title will easily be the best there is to offer the VR crowd, enjoy!
Shame its VR, would prefer keyboard and mouse
Someone will mod it for sure.
WTH are those yellow boots? Is this how you “walk” ? It’s HL ffs not chess!
