GTA San Andreas RTX Remix

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas with RTX Remix Path Tracing

Grand Theft Auto fans, here is something special for you today. It appears that RTX Remix is now compatible with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and below you can find a video that showcases a WIP version of it. Thanks to RTX Remix, PC gamers can enjoy full real-time path tracing in this classic GTA game.

Now as you can see here, the RTX Remix Mod still has a lot of bugs and graphical glitches. Still, and despite its WIP state, the game can now look significantly better than its vanilla version.

Here is a video comparison between the vanilla version and the RTX Remix mod. As you can clearly see, the game now looks better than ever. Path Tracing makes a HUGE difference, even in such an old game.

What’s really funny here is that modders were able to achieve this by only using the RTX Remix Runtime. In theory, things will get way better when NVIDIA releases the Remix Creator Tool.

GTA: San Andreas is the second game that saw major visual improvements with RTX Remix. The first one was Need for Speed: Underground 2.

You can go ahead and download this RTX Remix Mod for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas from here.

I really can’t wait to see even more classic games with RTX Remix. Seriously, this is perhaps one of the best things that has happened on PC lately. And, as said, things will get even better.

Enjoy!

  1. Removed! That was quick. The screenshots looked nice though. I barely touched this game back in the day and still have it on disc. Wouldn’t mind giving it a go with it rtx remixed.

On a semi related note, where the fck is racer rtx?

    1. Replaced the videos with others that are still live. Also added a link to a WIP version of this mod that you can download.

  2. Until Rockstar decides to shut them down ….

Needs a good Reshade to get some of the color back so it doesn’t look so washed out …. The cigarette smoke looked especially bad with RTX on.

Supposedly Remix is also going to make it easier to inject new textures and meshes similar to the way Resorep or Special K works which will really make it a useful tool for complete overhauls although I don’t know how developers and publishers are going to like that.

  3. To be honest I’m SO looking forward to this toolset being used on games like the Splinter Cell titles, Deus Ex, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Older Halo titles, Star Wars KOTOR 1&2 and Star Wars: Republic Commando.

The showcase in GTA here is absolutely INCREDIBLE. Sure, it could use some further tweaks and changes, but as is the difference is literally night and day.

Oh, I forgot. Imagine the Max Payne and DEAD SPACE games with this tech!

    1. Unfortunately, any game which uses pixel shaders 2.0+ won’t work with RTX Remix, so games like Deus Ex: Human Revolution & Dead Space are out of the question, for now…

      1. There’s also that one video game, Deus Ex from 2000, you know the original Deus Ex game HR is a prequel to xd I think that’s what he was actually talking about, and yes, Deus Ex would probably work great with Remix, honestly it would probably look great by default just ensuring the skybox is set correctly but perhaps preferably some touch ups in remix editor just to get a match with OG, before even going into “remastering” territory.

    2. Honestly, Deus Ex is they only one I’d love, but thinking of it a bit better, the game doesn’t need more shadows, it is already very dark in many areas, so if you applied RTX to it, it would probably look like 50% of the screen black and some bloomy neon lights or reddish rooms from a trash can fire. That game would require a pass of redoing lights in many places.
