Gearbox has shared the first gameplay trailer for its single-player 3D platformer, RKGK

In April 2024, Gearbox announced a new single-player 3D platformer, called RKGK (which is pronounced Rakugaki). Back then, I said that I was a bit disappointed by the announcement trailer, as it didn’t feature any gameplay sequences. And, thankfully, Gearbox has shared a proper gameplay trailer for it.

In this game, players will chain together jumps, dashes, glides, and grinds. Thus, they’ll be able to reach the perfect flow state in Defacer mode – where Valah’s world becomes her animated wonderland. You’ll also be able to master routes and speed through levels as you take down Mr. Buff’s cronies with style.

Valah will spray her paint for extra momentum, and with the press of a button you can glide around on a colorful trail that coats the grey industrial complexes of Cap City. You’ll also be able to surf, jump, and gain speed to get through the levels faster for a greater challenge.

When you bump into enemies you don’t want around, you can blast them with spray paint or use your fists to make them blow up. And, as you keep going, attacking and moving fast, Valah will kick into the Defacer Mode.

RKGK has an amazing art style. So, if you are a fan of 3D platformers, this game may be up your alley. So, go ahead and watch its gameplay trailer as it can give you an idea of what you can expect from it.

Gearbox has also shared some preliminary PC requirements. The team has listed the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750, AMD Radeon HD 7850 and Intel Arc A370M as the minimum required GPUs. Gearbox recommends using an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or an AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 or an Intel Arc A750. So, we can safely say that RKGK will run on a wide range of PC systems.

Gearbox will release RKGK on May 22nd. That’s one day after the release of Hellblade 2 on PC.

Enjoy!
