Cronos The New Dawn feature-2

Gameplay Teaser Trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn

Bloober Team has released a gameplay teaser trailer for its upcoming third-person survival horror game, Cronos: The New Dawn. This trailer gives us a glimpse at some of the game’s enemies, as well as its combat mechanics. So, make sure to check it out.

Set in a grim world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futurist technology, Cronos: The New Dawn will let you experience a gripping story that straddles the line between past and future.

In this game, you will assume the role of a Traveler who acts as an agent for the enigmatic Collective. Your task will be to scour the wastelands of the future in search of specific time rifts that will transport you back to 1980s-era Poland.

Players will have to locate key people from the past who perished in the ensuing apocalypse. Using their all-powerful Harvester, players can extract their Essences and have them accompany them into the future.

The enemies you’ll encounter in this game will be nightmarish creatures, born from the remnants of humanity. To defeat them, you’ll have to make full use of your arsenal.

From the looks of it, Cronos: The New Dawn will be the most action-oriented game of Bloober Team. It appears that the team has learned a lot from its collaboration with Konami for Silent Hill 2 Remake. Thus, I’m kind of looking forward to it.

Cronos: The New Dawn will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. And, I hope that it will be in a better technical state when it comes out than SH2 Remake was. After all, Silent Hill 2 Remake still suffers from major traversal stutters. And no, I don’t expect Blooper Team to go back to it and reduce them (or fix them).

Bloober Team will release Cronos: The New Dawn on PC sometime in 2025. You can also find its official PC system requirements here.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

    1. Why, its easy to work with, games look good, devs like it.
Maybe its not too optimized, but thats a separate issue.
You cant expect every studio to make their own engine, its not like there are many AAA engines out there that can look good with ray tracing and all the modern features

    2. so what in the hell do you suggest? go back to UE4? Or cr*ppy Unity? don't tell me you're expecting studios to code their own engines like in the good old days?

      1. Once again i'm guessing most gamers see artistic content that looks similar to another game tend to bridge the idea that this is all what the game engine can do… the answer is no. most developers tend to render content in a similar fashion. games in general do not all need to copy each other's content. the rule of thumb for content is, if you can think of it and create it through any graphics tool the game engine can render it as well.

UE4 and UE5 were both created to render generally anything sculpted in tools like Zbrush. that was the rule of thumb mentioned in their Keynotes.

  1. i am not hating but it feels so generic, so its a third person shooter "horror" game that you shoot generic monsters with generic weapons, so many of those games on steam right now.

    1. Disagree, there is nothing generic about it, looks interesting and tad unique, especially in enemy and armor department.
cant wait for more, we need more dark/horror/PostAp SciFi like this.
You say so many? which ones, make a list, just dont list old or indie trash, something that actually looks good.

      1. "Disagree, there is nothing generic about it, looks interesting and tad unique,"

"t dont list old or indie trash, something that actually looks good."

your definition of something looking good is very different than mine so i dont know what you want me to list.

        1. Games like that, horror scifi, but not 2D, something that makes 5090 worthwhile 🙂
I have dead space trilogy and remake, i have that game that looks like dead space , whats its name? i think its from last year, good game in space prison
I cant name anymore scifi horror games or dark scifi games, really

    2. Generic? How in the hell a Dark Horror in 1980's Poland with brutalism and retro-futurist technology is generic?!
      What a absolute clown.

  2. yep the shotgun sounds good, its BLAM and guts splashing out. you may think its a small thing but in these slow-paced horror titles not having a boomstick with limited ammo and high stopping power makes the whole experience linear with zero emotinal release.

  3. Almost had me, but 3rd person takes me right out of it. I know some don't mind it, but having a good chunk of the screen taken up looking at the back of my character isn't as immersive as 1st person.
