First gameplay footage released for PlanetSide Arena

Daybreak Games has shared a new video, showing the first gameplay footage for PlanetSide Arena. PlanetSide Arena is a new massive-scale sci-fi arena FPS set in the iconic PlanetSide universe. As such, this video will give you a small idea of what you can expect from it.

PlanetSide Arena will feature player classes, as well as combined arms gameplay and seasonal progression. The game will initially launch with three major game modes: Massive Clash, an epic 500-player Group vs. Group experience, along with Solo and Team Battle Royale modes. Furthermore, each new game season will be adding new modes. Some of these modes are Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, and Global Conquest.

Players will begin every match by selecting from one of three initial character classes – Assault, Engineer, and Medic – before deploying via drop pod into a massive map dynamically tailored for each game mode. Each class will come with a jetpack, personal vehicle, and unique abilities. Moreover, players will be able to upgrade their abilities throughout a match. According to the developers, this will add a layer of strategy to team construction and combat.

PlanetSide Arena will be launching on Steam for PC on January 29th.

Enjoy!

  1. Phew. Woke up today worried the world was going to run out of boring, repetitive, uninspired multiplayer garbage to waste their time on.

Thank god, PlanetSide Arena is here to save the day.

  2. So they target kids with this borderlands like graphics? Looks disgusting compared to Planetside 2 graphics.
