Environmental lead developer talks about the post-apocalyptic world of Disintegration

Disintegration is a first-person sci-fi shooter developed by V1 Interactive and published by Private Division. The title features a single-player campaign and a player versus player multiplayer mode.

The game is a blend of a high-octane first-person shooter action with real-time tactical elements. The game has a low barrier of entry. When you pick it up you feel that familiar first-person shooter control. Though as the game starts to unfold, you realize it also has a high skill bar for using the tactical element.

Disintegration takes place in a not too distant future where famine, disease, plague and overpopulation have ravaged humanity. As a stopgap measure humans have developed the “integration” by removing the brain and encasing it in a robotic armature. It was meant to be a temporary solution to an unavoidable crisis.

Though it didn’t take long for a post-humanist faction to break off and decide that this is the evolution of humanity. Soon after they started tampering with the integration by removing what makes someone human from the process. They are called the Rayonne.
