Dragon’s Dogma 2 gets a 7-minute game overview trailer, narrated by Ian McShane

Capcom has released a new 7-minute game overview trailer for Dragon’s Dogma 2 that is being narrated by Ian McShane. This trailer packs purely in-engine footage, so make sure to watch it.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a single-player, narrative-driven action RPG. In this game, you get to make a bunch of choices, like how your character looks, their job, who joins your team, and how you handle different parts of the game. The game uses the RE Engine, and promises to have great physics and smart enemies. And, since RE Engine is a really efficient engine, we can assume that it will run smoothly on a wide range of PCs.

In November 2023, Capcom shared the game’s official PC requirements. These PC specs seemed a bit high, which may explain why the console versions are at 30fps. For gaming at 2160i/30fps, Capcom recommended an Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 or AMD Radeon RX 6700. Plus, these requirements were for the non-RT version of the game.

It’s also worth noting that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will run with 60fps only on PC. While the console version will have an unlocked framerates, they’ll barely be able to hit 30fps. So, for the best gaming experience, players will have to play it on PC.

At launch, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will also support Ray Tracing and DLSS 3 Frame Generation. So, thanks to DLSS 3, PC gamers will be able to further improve performance. However, there is still no word on whether or not the game will support AMD FSR 3.0.

Capcom will release Dragon’s Dogma 2 on March 22nd. The game will be also using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech at launch. Given Capcom’s history, though, we expect the Japanese team to remove one or two years after the game’s release.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. Ian was amazing in Deadwood. In one episode he does a 10 min monologue while getting a bj lol.

I have a feeling he’s not a gamer and the publisher paid a pretty penny for his narration/advertisment.

  2. Action spamfest for consoles.

The problem with JRPG and Korean MMO is that they focus on action combat and accessibility. They have no substance, you feel no attachment to the dumbed down empty world with horrible writing. Wielding an oversized sword like a maniac was fun when you were 14 playing on a console, this is not a fulfilling experience when you’re an adult.

European RPG like BG3 are narrative heavy, mechanically deep, strategically complex. They’re just better.

JRPG are made for kids with ADD, sorry weebs.

    1. Baldur’s Gate 3 is for slow people with sub-human IQ. The kind of people who call combo-based action ‘spamfest.’

      1. Ok little monkey, you go kill the badies with a big sword and ya badass combos.

What a good little 5-yeard-old console player.

  3. First game was one of the worst games I’ve ever played. People who like this franchise are a loud minority.

  4. I bet Western devs will sweat blood to deliver just a fraction of the quality of animations and versatility in gameplay of this game. Just look at how the minotaur falls and shockwave spreads across land shaking trees and grass and player. I loved first one & this is truly epic.

  5. $70 on Steam.
    -Steamworks DRM
    -Denuvo DRM
    -Russian Enigma malware DRM

That’s at least 3 layers of DRM being installed on your system when playing this game, one of them being Russian malware that remains on your system after uninstalling the game.

Steam and Capcom can shove their malware DRM where the sun doesn’t shine.

When it comes to GOG I will consider it.

  6. $70 on Steam’s overpriced DRM platform.
    -Steamworks DRM
    -Denuvo DRM
    -Russian Enigma malware DRM

The sheer cringe of people supporting Capcom and Steam’s bs.

That’s at least 3 layers of DRM being installed on your system when playing this game, one of them being Russian malware that remains on your system after uninstalling the game.

No wonder performance blows. Steam and Capcom can shove their malware DRM where the sun doesn’t shine.
