Electronic Arts and BioWare have released an official 20-minute gameplay video for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. This trailer shows off some of the game’s environments and characters, its dialogue tree, a boss fight, and its combat mechanics.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be powered by the latest iteration of the Frostbite Engine. And although we don’t know whether it will have any Ray Tracing effects, I have to say that it at least looks great.
In this new Dragon Age game, players will enter the world of Thedas, a vibrant land of rugged wilderness, treacherous labyrinths, and glittering cities steeped in savage combat and secret magics. Now, the fate of this world teeters on a knife’s edge.
Players will forge a courageous fellowship to challenge the gathering storm. Friendship, drama, and romance will abound as you bring striking individuals together into an extraordinary team. Become the leader and light the beacon of hope in their darkest moments.
Electronic Arts will release Dragon Age: The Veilguard in Fall 2024.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

Just finished the video. I won't say it looks bad but I am sad they fully abandoned the combat from the previous titles. Action Combat with Pauses for the Mass Effect Wheel seems like it could still work as it does in other action games but now it just feels like it loses the identity the series had in favor of being generic and widely accessible. I think the story of developing a "crew" and then more adventures in the world with some returning characters still can be fun and nostalgic but hey I think ill wait for more reviews for this one.
Does not look like you can control your party members at all.
Looks like a Hogwarts Legacy sequel. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/8a362b0409f84c0b8002a8f908f555a0e3059c7856b7a39261c456074810cc09.jpg
the original pitch was supposed to take place in Tevinter the nation where mages are free to do whatever so looking like hogwartz isnt the craziest look. The combat just gives so generic and basic.
It's just that the graphics don't feel very serious or in keeping with previous games. Very childish graphics and UI overall is the main problem.
tbf none of the games keep a lot graphically between them. 2 came out like less than 2 years after and has a relatively different look for a lot of characters and armor styles. I think the gameplay video shows the game in a better light but i am sad that they seemed to just go straight for action combat with pause time like mass effect. I can only hope that they do keep the cool story telling and mostly cool cast.
This series has only one good game and that's the first one, the rest is a waste of time and interesting lore that Origins made.
Bioware should go the way of the dodo already.

Dragon Age is now a 3rd person action game ?
Good luck Bioware.
Into the trash it goes.
The incinerator would be better, but you cannot really burn code.
bunr it in to a DVD the into the incinerator
After this, what EA can do is, ask Motive to Remake 1:1 of Dragon Age: Origins without any alterations and contact Larian for a future Dragon Age title, but fully EA management hands-off.
And assign this current BioWare team to do future Mass Effect only (which they're moving onto anyways after this game's release).
And for OG Bioware & Mass Effect fans …. Archetype Entertainment and their upcoming Exodus (Mass Effect's spiritual successor) is the one to keep eyes on.
there are so many jokes to make here, such us 'john you imbecile this is the new fable game, what you mean its not?
Anyway there was this game with witches on a broom racing and delivering patches, heavy usage of the color punk and girl punk music, then a black woman grabs the blonde one and kisses her. My point is the heavy over usage of the color pink is "queer coded" and this game also does that. The writer is a transexual, you people tolerated the patient zero for wokeness, dragon age inquisition and now this is what we get. But hey on the bright side it might kill bioware.
Inquisition was obnoxious.
to who this game is made for exactly?
The Old DA fans doesn't want it
The BioWare fanboys doesn't want it
The Fortnite players will never play this genre of games
The Baldur's gate fans will laugh at this
So, EA just tell us please, what is the target audience

Kingdom of Amalur/Fable fans
Those games are genuinely good games, this is worse than Inquisition which was literally dog sh*t.
Not to mention, they always do their best to make the protagonist as unrelatable as they can.
How many black women play a game like Alan Wake 2? How many black men are into games like BG or DA?
its made for video-game journalists
Queersexuals like the mentally ill game director stated.
"They say it was the hubris of men that created the DarkSpawn! They also say it was wokeness that finally hammered the last nail on Bioware's coffin."
This is so far away from what Bioware was when the two Doctors were in charge. The first Dragon Age, Origins' trailer was violent, brooding, filled with blood and terror, the Bioware symbol was a dragon made of blood, with Marylin Manson soundtrack.
This one is neon lights and cartoonish and gay, according to the Dragon Age: The Veilguard Game Director who describes himself as a “queerosexual gendermancer” (WTF?) and claims game is “Inherently Queer”. Well that's the game director, who is going to deny him/her/zeir?
Varric is back, went from blond to brunette or very dark grey? shaved his chest and probably just like the Inquisitor, he is going to be at best a secondary character as we can now finally focus on the great and beloved Scout Harding as a companion, because you know, the rest of the crew wasn't inclusive enough.
Lets see so we get the cute female dwarf, the black elf with the cute baby griphon, the muscular strong female steroided Qunari who clearly needs no man, the Indian one legged female detective, the old white necromancer looking insuferable with cute/ridiculous skeletons and little skeleton friend with cartoony green glasses, that assassin guy Lucaris DelaMuerte? The latino guy then I guess… who looks anything but menacing and then the joyful asian elf that jumps through portals with a smile on her face. Yes, very dark, just the look and feel of the end of the world.
This… is just sad, and without wishing anything bad on anyone, I hope this is finally the end of Bioware, they have desecrated the corpse of what Bioware once was, long enough. Let it die please, it is too painful to watch.
Looks like some cheap Korean button-masher F2P MMO.
The dialogue is so cringe and the graphics are awful.
beautiful woke trash, I see only negroes and stronk wahmen, I knew it was trash and I knew old BioWare has been dead for years now but you still somehow try to linger on a sparkle of hope, well that sparkle just faded away, very quickly. BioWare, just stop existing you've hired too many rainbow morons and you've wasted everything in the longrun. Your good name has vanished.
Isn't "Didn't Earn It" hires great? They kill off the garbage companies (lets face it, 90% of the latest failed ones including this one are the old ones in name only) even faster so others can take their place and in the end we get good games – Not political lecturing and from zealots who use their shareholders money to fuel their powerfantasies.
I never imagined that Dragon Age will ever become Devil May Cry. Reality is really stranger than fiction.
He is probably related to the Black samurai in AC: Shadows.
I'm surprised that it felt like it had a serious and substantial undertone,
but unfortunately everything on top of it is lame: the button masher action combat, cartoonish look, the purple, cocky strong leader women, mr black guy, no RPG elements other than fake dialog choices…
This atrocity is going to need a lot mods to make it remotely playable. And even then, it might not be enough to salvage it.
Yeah, they should pay the player as they will need to invest about as much time as they have on the game to get it to be even "ok"
saw a few seconds and got bored. no interest in playing an rpg where it doesn't show you what you're about to say, or your character being voiced. i predict that bioware will be closed after this one.
