Bethesda and id Software have released a brand new multiplayer for Doom Eternal, detailing its BATTLEMODE… mode. This trailer also packs new gameplay footage so we suggest watching it if you are looking forward to this title.
ATTLEMODE is Doom Eternal’s all-new 2-v-1 multiplayer mode. According to the devs, this mode features all the fast, frenetic and ferocious combat that defines DOOM’s single player. Players will fight across six unique arenas with 5 playable demons.
It’s worth noting that all future maps and playable demons will be free for all players. In other words, the new maps and demons won’t be put behind a paywall.
As id Software notes:
“Play as either a fully loaded DOOM Slayer, or on a team of two player-controlled demons. The Slayer and the demons’ objective may be the same – destroy the other side – but their playstyles are entirely different.”
Doom Eternal releases on November 22nd and its BATTLEMODE will be available at launch day!

Failed before it’s out
I see this like the mass effect 2 multiplayer, unnecessary gimmick.
PREORDER NOW TO GET THE DOOT REVENANT.
Hah funny. ALSO THE CLASSIC SHOTGUN SKIN….how about the classic plasma rifle sound?
PREORDER NOW THE DELUXE EDITION TO GET THE CLASSIC WEAPON SOUND PACK.
Thats a bit of a c3nt move dont you think bethesda?
must be thinking 3. They look the same anyway.
they got the same graphics dude, same weapons too.
devs said that you can change the hud. Apparently lots of people dont like it.
In Bethesda’s Fallout games you also technically can change the HUD. But to me changing colors and making it a bit more transparent doesn’t count as in-depth customization.
you can remove stuff you dont like thats what i heard one of the devs say.
This will die by new year!
The only modes I care about is Deathmatch, and CTF…and they suck in the these new DOOM games! That only leaves the SP which is pretty awesome!
HUD & UI is sh**ty, and the game has been dumbed down for noobs.
So to all interested – just replay DOOM 2016 singleplayer campaign. It’s a better experience.
Can smell the incoming microtransactions from here.
Well, er, if nothing else I suppose we should be grateful it’s not Doom battle royale.
Da faq is that mobile game HUD?
WHYYYYYY
yeah i agree devs said they made it that way because it is intiituve, it shows imediatly what weapon you are using and through colors how much ammo you have or armor, useful for a game that you play too fast. They said there are hud options so you will be able to change the hud and colors.
It’s gotta be on Nintendo Switch, so money – that’s why.
Couldn’t have said better myself. I agree wholeheartedly on all counts.
damn that Hud is hella ugly!! are we looking at the android version?
can someone tell me why the characters moving like michael jackson
I don’t understand why they think this mode is the attention getter. Why do they keep pushing this? You can’t balance this kind of completely asymmetrical conflict. It will never work. id went from the grandfathers of arena FPS who understood that only symmetrical maps and symmetrical player avatars are truly balanced, to making a highly asymmetrical Quake game and now this foolishness. Asymmetry works in skinner boxes (“MMOs”) because skill or a competitive mind set play no role there. Counter-Strike is about as asymmetrical as a game can be and CS has always had side switching to lessen the impact of an advantage one side has on each map. “Battlemode” is how literal children would design a multiplayer game. I imagine that every sentence in the board room started with “wouldn’t it be epic if…”. And you know there can’t be any meaningful play-testing outside of identifying technical bugs.
