  1. These scenes look great to watch and I think the guys behind some of the games today could easily make cheesy action movies better than Stallone.

However, there is nothing worse than having your immersion in a game broken by seemingly pointless QTEs and cut scenes that happen every few minutes. It is one of the biggest problems that the video games of today have and they really need to tone it down.

    1. I’m just amazed that this “group” has been able to do what they are doing with this IP.

I mean, clearly the priority is to make a “Hollywood Blockbuster” of a game, to Wow us with the single player campaign that will obviously have more cinematic cliffhangers than the last one, and then maybe, if they have time, focus on balance and realism… Oh Wait! We’ll put in Power Suits! I saw that in the GI Joe movie! Yea!

Bunch of coked out man-childs designing this game… DEF not even pirating this slop.

  2. What a colossal abortion this franchise has become.

Seriously. Go look at MW gameplay… Then look at this tripe.

Yes, the series has always been designed with an element of Michael Bay to it, and that is fine in order to spice up the campaign and to have the 1 or 2 interesting multiplayer maps that remind you of the hollywood look. But just LOOK at the gunplay. It’s a mockery. You used to have to fight recoil and use ironsights, plan your ammo usage, USE YOUR SECONDARY.

I wanna try and not blame this on consoles, but I swear by looking at that short video, you can easily imagine him playing and shooting with 1 hand on an XBox controller.

    1. Exactly. Which PISSES me off because I can’t remember a more enjoyable multiplayer experience than MW and MW2 for those few years.

Well, obviously if I don’t count my Rainbow Six Raven Shield years. Legendary, son.

      1. Yea, I didn’t have as much problem with that because it was more of what I liked. Sure, by MW3, there was some cheese creeping in, especially with some of the perks and the advent of pay-to-play DLC cutting the community into 3rds…

But starting with Black Ops, it went downhill FAST.

    2. you pretty much described every game in this era, they are all scritped and generic as h3ll with no recil and endless hollywood camera angles

They ruined max payne 3, they runed tomb raider.

      Its so sad.

They call this a level but its a gloryfied QTE.

ATLEAST its interesting unlike max payne 3 and tomb raider scripted moments.

        1. Opinions on what? All games nowday share cods views. qtes, scripted events guns with no recol health regen milking.

          1. You are wrong. Not ‘all games’ have QTEs.

You can’t simply say that if you don’t like Max Payne 3 then no one will like it. Opinions differ.

          2. If you generalize too much. Most games have the same bad design ideas solley because other devs use them rather fitting in the game. Naughty dog figured out qtes are bad on the first game, why everyone takes so long to figure it out?

Also as far as max payne 3 goes, none of the actual fans liked it, only people who dont know much about the previous games.

Its not a bad game but its cinematic focus is beyond stupid becaues it actualy harms the gameplay.

Example you can run out of ammo and not have the change to pick up ammo because the game will teleport you to a diffirent area thanks to cutcsenes kicking in after you finished shooting bad guys.Evey cutscene will unequip your current weapon and swtich to the starting pistol

How that game got such high scores is beyond me. It has fundementaly game design problems that are on odds with the game mechanics of the game.

Uber scripted and unexpected cutscenes that move your character and collectables dont mix.

          3. Again, you are using terms such as ‘none’ and ‘always’ etc.

I’m a huge Max Payne fan. I’ve been loving the series since the first one. The second one was a huge improvement, too. But I also liked Max Payne 3.

          4. You know i am playing max payne 3 and the level design and the uber scripting are ruining the game.

Here is why the game unequips the weaopon you are using and takes control of your character and puts you into a clusterfck of multiple enemies shooting at you, so you gonna have to go to a hussle of switchign to the weapon you want to use, identify all the targets avoid getting shot and then sort the mess out.

The previous max payne games had large rooms so the shootodges could work, there was a lot of space, max payne 3 does not so you are always vunurable during shootdoges and you bump on objects. shootdodng through a door was common tactic, which you cant use in max payne 3 because the game will use cutscense to teleport you to the next area and take control of your character when the enemies spawn as opposed to the previous games that you could freely explore and hear funny conversations of npcs and deicde how to attack them.

Max payne 3 has bazillions of design decisions that conflict with each other from the level design, to the heavy scripting and cutscenes to the collectables.

Its a mess really. As far as story goes, its a also a mess because max payne was never about being a depressed jerk it was about being noire detective and like everything noire saying that the world is a mess and bad things happen, it was about avoiding to get corrupted, not about being a self hating drunktard.

Every single action scene in max payne 3 is a mess, the game works better while using cover than slow mo and shootdodges

So as max payne 3 it has failed.

6 years of development 108 milion and it flopped. The studio rockstar vancouver is no gone. I expected more from bully developers.

Ill stick with alan wake ending on max payne rather tis pointless sequel that is riddled with game design problems and litteraly goes nowhere in the end.

          5. In my opinion, Max Payne 3 is an amazing game. Nothing can change that. It’s all subjective. Learn to accept.

          6. ok i accept your opinion, in my opinion max payne 3 is borring with a horrible story that has no point and ruins max character and the entire game is horribly scripted and always makes you equip the wrong weapon prior a gunfight and max is always put behind cover with 4-7 enemies aiming their guns at thim and doesnt feel like a max payne game at all.

  3. It looks nice…It has cool concept(the futuristic gear)…It’s Hollywood in a game…

BUT, that whole section feels like just a glorified rail shooter! Get to a spot, shoot stuff that swarms around you, QTEs for some reason, jump to another spot and repeat.

With all that exo suit and gecko glove I was expecting we as the player would have some form of control and total involvement in the scene- get in the middle of the traffic, choose which cars to climb onto and make our own way to the enemy.

  4. what was that ? xbox 360 version or the game looks like that for real ? let me guess, it needs 4GB vram ?

PS: john, don’t you dare censore or delete my comment

      1. Just read my comment again and didn’t see any mention of piracy anywhere. Perhaps keep your accusations to yourself, you might make more friends that way.

  5. What a sh**ty game………wait….. i already preordered the game, what i’m doing with my money?.
