    1. Yea, same. I get a very sentimental feeling about a single player in this setting… the last time was for the Medal of Honor DLC’s that came out around Christmas time.. I was ecstatic, and remember playing them while the snows fell outside the window… that one mission where you have to sneak into a frozen town…

      1. Makes sense personally while watching this trailer i was like “meh, emmm hmm meh” A ww1 campaign would be good but this trailer is missing the point. But i do get the feels is the new cod because i like sci fi space dogfights, robots, lasers and paramilitaries.

    1. You’re kidding right? Out of all trailers I think this one manages to get it right. The music felt kinda out of place for me in the other trailers. But I still have doubts about the story mode, which is at the moment the only thing I care about from the game.

        1. I won’t argue with that, but those two did start the waves of sh;tty shooters to follow. Then came Spec Ops: The Line, which set the bar too high for military shooters.

      1. No i went back to the last few bf story trailers they were pretty good. Also the new cod, yes i said the new cod, which is now a space game, is far better looking.

        1. So it’s not a military shooter then, its a Syfy shooter.
I like that they got Jon Snow to be the villain in it.

        1. That doesn’t tell us anything unless you state your age!
If you are only 23 then it’s just 20 years of gaming, You’re still a noob. 😉
Some of us are 40+ and have been playing since the 70’s

          1. Don’t call me a noob unless u have a set to call me a noob to my face in public

    1. CoD should definitely have broken their tradition and tried to get a release in front of BF1. This is going to be a SLAUGHTER, especially if they announce the standalone version of the MW Remaster that everyone wants anyway, will be 6 months down the line.

    1. They still try to hook the solo campaign gamers. I know multiplayer guys dont think so but solo only players make up a massive part of the community. If BF1 had an interesting lead character and they pushed the story with marketing they could get another 3-5+ million copies sold just for the multiplayer on top of the 10 million sold by mp players.

      1. “3-5 million” yeah, no.

They’d get a boost with good word of mouth about the campaign, sure, but 3-5 million? Hell no. As for solo players – the Battlefield 3 & 4 fanbase that only bought the game for the Campaign comprise about ~1% of sales, total, largely due to how sh*t the campaigns in question were.

Making a good campaign in Battlefield 1 wouldn’t automatically bring in an extra 30-50% income “because good campaign.” If the campaign were to actually be good enough, then they might get an extra 10-15%, but that’s about it.

Battlefield is largely seen as a Multiplayer franchise, overcoming that stigma with a good campaign story, especially considering the stigma built up by the last two EPIC FAIL campaigns they’ve made, will take a lot more than one well-reviewed game.

Before anyone mentions Bad Company – it’s been 6 years since then, & two major releases. Nobody remembers BC2 anymore, except the fans who still want BC3, not BF1.

  1. This looks so amazing but you know the campaign is going to be 4-6 hours and wont be anything special. Its too bad because that trailer was insane.

    1. And probably the campaign will be as well but most likely as short as you mention. But hey, considering this is the first MP game that I’m considering buying, perhaps it will be worth it.

        1. Who knows, considering it’s using the old CoD-like structure of various POVs, perhaps it will have a decent length and strong fun factor. I’m still torn on getting though because I don’t usually have the time for daily MP gaming sessions.

  2. Looks like they are just trying to make WWI look like an American action film. Nice way to desecrate history.
But who cares, I’m sure all the arrogant 12year olds will love it.

    1. Are you sure you played the beta?

It looks outstanding, like amazing, and the gameplay, once you realize aside from the gadgets and 2ndry weapons being handled in a different, *simpler*, way less technical manner as opposed to BF4’s tech, is pretty much a mirror image of BF4’s gameplay.

I think BF1 is going to be a supreme success, assuming they stay on top of the bugs and technical issues.

        1. more like battlefront.the game that people hated because no single player and some modes missing but yet they love bf 1…lol

        2. Whats wrong with that? It is a battlefield game after all..

If they changed too much people would complain about that as well, just like with Star War Battlefront. Would have enjoyed that much more if followed Battlefields gameplay style more.

          1. Battlefront isn’t Battlefield, though. DICE “Battlefielded” it far more enough already, anyway. The last thing Battlefront fans actually wanted from DICE’s SWBF reboot was Star Wars: Battlefield.

Even DICE had enough IQ power left to realise that, at the time. Don’t worry, though – DICE’s SWBF2 will be far more Battlefield than Battlefront.
