Alone in the Dark: Illumination & Haunted House: Cryptic Graves Teaser Trailers

Atari has released two teaser trailers for Alone in the Dark: Illumination and Haunted House: Cryptic Graves. Alone in the Dark: Illumination is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and will be developed by Pure FPS, while Haunted House: Cryptic Graves is developed by Dreampainters (the team behind ‘Anna’).

Haunted House: Cryptic Graves is described as a terrifying, first-person single-player adventure-horror game, and will be coming to the PC this Fall.

“Gifted with psychic abilities, Anya Graves must use her unique powers to purge the spirits and monsters that infest the Haunted House. Anya can communicate with the dead to decipher puzzles and avoid deadly traps, and use additional powers to craft objects that eradicate gruesome ghosts.”

On the other hand, Alone in the Dark: Illumination will pack destructible environments via which players will be able to change the structure of the map and advance their quest.

Alone in the Dark: Illumination aims to put players in constant danger by coming face to face with demons of the underworld, meaning that you’ll have to survive the relentless onslaught of the Forces of Darkness, and the evil that lurks in its path.

Enjoy!

      1. When Atari went, we have a vision for our future Alone in the Dark and Haunted House title, I didn’t think they’d actually mean, we are going to piggy back on the success of amnesia (which is pretty good mind you), and other Pewdiepieable stuff. :/

We need more well written tps psychological horror games. Alan Wake was so nice! I really liked it, you can learn a lot about timing from that game.

I actually really liked the 2008/9 version of AITD, even though flawed, it felt like an actual survival game actual SURVIVAL!!!

        1. oh man , me to loved the 2008 aitd , it was maybe years after i found out that many didn’t like the game.. i personally loved how inventory worked , and mixing stuff with other stuff 😀 , it was fun game for me… i admit i was also very biased at the time about it, but even now i think it was decent , not that bad

          1. now we are getting this 4 player co-op crud… why did they need to mix the left 4 dead/evolve formula in this?
            that game needed another chance.

      2. Alan Wake was great, although i didn’t like the arcade-ish feel of movement and combat so much , it was well fit with the story so i’m still fine with it. I love stuff like classic RE,DinoCrisis,Silent Hill and Alone in the dark 4 as well… a little bit slower pace with hard puzzles ,ammo, health and inventory management.. it was really fun, wish they can do something like that again.

But their website say new AITD is gonna be like multiplayer L4D clone or something.. not what im really looking forward to , but i wanna see it regardless.

          1. He is not one guy he has multiple acounts and goes everywhere and spams everyone becuase people dont agree with his opinion. he spends his time copy and pasting the same sttatments that he has propably saved on his computer.

He gets banned he makes new acounts on new ips with proxies and keeps posting and spamming everyone.

      1. messages edited but if he/she continues this jews-thing, we’ll – for the first time ever – bring the hammer.

        1. No mercy for genocide in occupied Palestine JEW lover ? Want to see what I can do to when I get angry JEW lover?

  1. Alone in the Dark however is the reason why we have Resident Evil today.
But f..k part 4 and 5 of it as they were totally crap. Lets hope
Atari have gotten rid of that poison

  2. Oh and I actually liked the 2008/9 version of AITD. It was definitely deeply flawed in various aspect, but then, it felt like true SURVIVAL horror. You had to scavenge around, get items, and combine them for various effects if you wanted to survive.

I was driving through central park when I saw a pack of bloodthirsty enemies ahead, I slowed down, and got out of the car. With my knife, I pierced the gas tank which then started leaking.

Then I took out a pack of blood which I had picked up earlier, taped it with double tape and stuck it on the car. Then, I drove it making sure I didn’t run out of fuel and jumped out.

The blood on the car lured the enemy, those crab little things and they ran after it jumping on the car. After that, I just ignited the fuel trail it had left behind with my lighter. Well you know what happened after that! 😛

It needs another chance, someone to use those mechanics and polish them! 🙁

    1. I liked it too if you switched to fps view the controls were ok and you had alot of innovations like the inventory ahd healing system and the crafing and duct tape.

  3. Alone in the the Dark looks great . Hopefully , we’ll be able to pick up weapons and fight back . But I want ammo to be hard to find like RE 2 . There are already too many Amnesia like horror games .

On other hand I’m also interested in Haunted House , since I’ve heard nothing but good things about Anna .
