Dear Esther gets its first patch; UI updated, graphics settings no longer break visuals

The Chinese Room has released the first patch for their unique indie game, Dear Esther. This patch comes with updated UI and fixes the graphics settings breaking visuals for some, as well as a crash when switching between high>low shader detail settings in-game. The update will be auto-downloaded next time you start the Steam client and you can view its changelog below. Enjoy! A few days ago, Justin Salih informed as about his new video for Dear Esther. Well, it was good but not THAT good, so we didn’t feature it. And we are delighted to see Justin feeling the same way with us. Yeah, it was good but the shots that were used were not good enough to really show off what the game is capable of. Fast forward a couple of days and here we are with a new video from Justin. This new video is lovely and relaxing, also due to the song that Justin used. Dear Esther is now available on Steam

And it’s finally here with us. Indie game, Dear Esther, has finally been released on Steam and is priced at 6.99 euros. Dear Esther immerses you in a stunningly realised world, a remote and desolate island somewhere in the outer Hebrides. In order to celebrate the four nominations at this year’s IGF, the team behind Dear Esther decided to finally release its official trailer.
