Activision Blizzard today announced better-than-expected financial results for the fourth quarter and calendar year 2013. The company revealed that as of December 31, 2013, Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft remains the #1 subscription-based MMORPG, with approximately 7.8 million subscribers. Blizzard has unveiled that Diablo III’s expansion, Reaper of Souls, will be coming to the PC on March 25th. This information comes straight from the official website, via which you can pre-order both the standard and the digital deluxe edition of Reaper of Souls. According to its description, Reaper of Souls will require a copy of Diablo III – in other words it won’t be a standalone expansion – as well as an Internet connection and a Battle.net account. Diablo III – Reaper of Souls Features Trailer
Activision and Blizzard have released a new trailer for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, detailing the features of this new expansion. Diablo III: Reaper of Souls will add new zones to fight through, a new class called the Crusader and raise the level cap to 70 for all of Diablo 3’s current classes, adding dozens of new abilities, runes and passives. Diablo III’s Auction House To Be Removed On March 18th, No Plans For An Offline Mode
Blizzard has announced today that it will be removing Diablo III’s auction house on March 18th. According to production director, John Hight, the Auction House system ultimately undermines Diablo’s core game play at this point, and that is something that Blizzard does not feel comfortable with.
