Focus Home Interactive has launched the official Steam store page for The Surge 2, revealing two new screenshots. The Surge 2 promises to feature larger and more ambitious level design, more brutal combat, and an expanded limb-targeting system.
From what we know so far, The Surge 2 will have double the number of weapon classes (than its predecessor) and the weapon skill system will be enhanced and upgraded.
Deck13 claimed that it has immensely upgraded the drone and what you can do with it in terms of ranged combat (the drone is now physically mounted to the exosuit), that the game will have more bosses (at least twice as many boss fights. Some will be smaller, others even larger than the bosses in Surge 1) and a large variety of enemies, the AI will be improved/enhanced, and some enemies will have guns.
The combo mechanics have also been completely rewritten. Furthermore, lots of fighting and combo mechanics have been upgraded and there is a lot more flexibility in cooldowns now. Also, levels will be more interconnected and traversing the world will be possible in many more layers now.
Enjoy the screenshots and stay tuned for more!

Better not be as bad as the first one
seems to me it wont be anything like the first game.
How come?
Man, I wished this game was something, other than heavily Souls inspired.
Those screenshots look like more like concept artwork.
I can’t wait to see how this turns out. Loved the first game. It’s the first brutally hard game I loved so much because it was the most polished in its class. This game also had the best Keyboard+Mouse optimization. Thanks For the good news John.
Is it really that good?! I guess I need to play it…
Please do man, you won’t regret it. It’s all about synergy. You can build your character in such a synergetic way that you can heal. Without ever using a health potion.
Yeah, one of the rare souls like games where devs actually optimized m+k controls, unlike most lazy f*ks in the subgenre.
Not only the subgenre, but the main genre as well. It took 3 dark souls for the devs to get it right somewhat.
But dark souls 3 didn’t get it right, KB+M is weak, the game is a blurry azz mess. They seem to got it right with sekiro, but still nowhere near as polished as The Urge. The Japanese are slow to the table when it comes to PC gaming, I really hope they get their sh*t together.
They are also very inconsistent. If you look at platinum games, they made nier: automata, one of the most trash game on PC ever made and trash in every way, ESPECIALLY KB+M. But the same company brought us metal gear rising on PC, also very trash controls. Then they brought us Vanquish, which is the most flawless KB+M, I’ve ever seen in a port/Japanese game. That game is a beast when it Comes to KB+M optimization. I just don’t understand why there is no freakin standard across the board for those people.
Yeah that’s why i said “get it right somewhat”. Still comparing DS3 vs DS1 KB+M is like comparing heaven and hell.
Haha, my bad you are right man. Heaven & hell, Couldn’t have said it any better myself.
Speaking of which, Nioh patched also falls in the DS3 cathegory of mediocre standards. Lack of Keyboard prompts is a big nono.
Yeah man these guys knows what they are doing and they should be a standard for the industry. KB+M is what kept bringing me back to this beauty. I did Game++++, it’s highly replayable.
Thats not a screenshot
Amazing!
two new screenshots? omg, you’re spoiling us, stop it!
Need a map this time around, GAWD DAMMIT!
Souls games usually don’t have map, but since this game is in the future i see your point.
