Daedalic has released a new set of screenshots for its upcoming futuristic thriller, State of Mind. State of Mind is a new 3D adventure in which a dystopian reality and a utopian virtual future stand in stark contrast to each other. In these two realities, players not only take on the role of several playable characters, but also face an existentialist drama unfolding as humanity is on the verge of post-materialism. State of Mind is currently planned for a Q1 2017 release. Oh, and for crying out loud Daedalic… reduce the Chromatic Aberration effect. Jesus Christ!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. Will they give away anaglyph 3D glasses along with the game?
Gross >.<
The visual style looks cool. Looks very clean, I like it.
Eh, chromatic aberration is still way less offensive than bloom and motion blur.
bloom is most offensive. i agree
Chromatic aberration is the least annoying thing about the visuals of this game.
“humanity is on the verge of post-materialism” and discovered chromatic aberation.
I hate how CA has become the new hip trendy effect to cram into their games. It looks so ugly, so blurry and effects performance to boot, why the hell would you ever want to use such an effect as CA?. Even photographers hint at using it only to create an old effect but that is about all it amounts to, for gaming it has no right in existing.
I hope this polygonal concept is not a trending.

you dont like good graphics?
Sad to say, chromatic aberration has became an art style. Just look at the many concept art or illustrations out there.
The overuse of CA is much a fault of Epic, cuz it’s on by default in UE, and to no surprise this game runs under the UE, and inexperienced developers doesn’t know how to, doesn’t recognize and or thinks it’s something popular and appreciated nowadays.
CA in UE is or was at least at some point called “camera imperfections” and was located on by default and located at the same place as the other post process effects.
So thanks to Epic for leaving CA on by default in one of the most popular free engines out there, has lead to this growing trend.
Been on my Steam wishlist for a while now, Looking forward to playing it early next year.
