Rise of the Tomb Raider releases in a couple of days, and NeoGAF’s ‘MaLDo ‘ (better known for his incredible mod for Crysis 2) has shared two comparison gifs between the PC and the Xbox One version. These gifs will give you an idea of the differences between these two versions (the different lighting is the first thing you will notice). Enjoy!

People who don’t think a Game is worth full-price, or just can’t afford it at full price (since – wait for it, shocking revelation coming up – in 2016, many people across the world STILL can’t afford full-price Games! :o) won’t buy it at full price, regardless of Pirated Download availability.
The people who Pirated Witcher 3 & still haven’t bought it fall almost exclusively under one of these two categories;
A – They’re waiting for the Witcher 3’s Enhanced Edition re-release, or
B – They’re waiting to get it on a Steam Sale at 50-75% off, which they’d by & large be doing regardless of if it was available since Day 1 as a Pirate Download or not.
There’s really only a minority of a minority of a minority amongst Pirate Downloaders that’ll never actually buy the damn Game, regardless of what it’s priced at.
Although there are always exceptions, of course;
D – Pirated it to spite CDPR for downgrading the Lighting System/other. These people likely never even actually installed their copies, though, so it’s not “really” a lost sale. They have no interest in Witcher, hence they never intended to buy it in the first place.
E – Pirated it because their country’s version has some ridiculously over-inflated price attached to it, for whatever reason, as is often the case with Australian games, for example. Disgraceful stuff, really.

Well I have a PC that costs more than 1000 of your currency as well as an XB1 yet I am always able to tell the difference as the PC version almost always has better textures,ambient occlusion , draw distance , texture filtering, shaders, shadows, tessellation while running at least 2560x1440p on my PC but usually down sampled from an even higher resolution still.
I bought the PC version of TR and then watched on as the “next-gen” consoles got a far inferior version of the game 18 months later. Then 1 year after that I got Tomb Raider Definitive with Games with Gold so was able to play the game and notice how it was even far inferior to play which was down to the less responsive controls as it was running at 30fps and not a locked 60fps like my PC. So seeing as the last TR game launched 18 months before either PS4 or XB1 versions and was still far superior I expect this game to be even better still seeing as it launches after the XB1 version.
Lastly only a complete and utter tard wouldn’t notice the difference between console versions and a PC that costs just over half the price you quoted but I suppose you will never know. That and I am not a big fat b@stard with no social life, but even if anyone was, what has that got to do with who has the best gaming experience?.

Yes, almost always. Every now and then there are games on PC with only small upgrades, however even then the PC version is far superior as games simply look/play far better at 60fps. Games simply look better at higher than 1080p or down sampled. Anyhow, almost always you find all the above improvements in the PC version, I know this breaks your heart which is why you hang around here but I am not going to sugar coat it for you as everyone should accept that you get what you pay for.

Lastly, I seem to remember when the last Tomb Raider game launched on PC, 360 and PS3 and all the little jealous console pr1cks like yourself made comments about how there was hardly any difference between the decrepit Directx9 console versions and the Directx11 PC version. While I don’t support DRMs in any way but there is nothing wrong with Denovo, it’s actually an anti-tamper system meant to protect the underlying DRM like Steam or Origin and all the myths regarding it affecting the game performance or damaging the PC have been busted, Mad Max and MGS 5 are two good examples that are using Denovo and they perform great. Only pirates have problem with it and it’s a good thing.

Those are just part of EULA that are there for the sake of it but can you tell me an instance where this tech actually caused some harm to your system or any other suspicious activity ? it’s not even a DRM itself, it’s an anti-tamper technology that protects the underlying DRM from crackers. I don’t trust DRM myself but it is far better than staying always online or other draconian methods like insert the disc, enter the key and so on. It just sits there and protect the files from being modified.
Of course an ideal case will be a DRM free game but not every studio have the reputation and ideas of CDPR so the next acceptable thing is this.
If a game turns out good then I will support it be it having this tech or not. DRM is a nuisance YES but it’s not a decisive factor that will force me to stop supporting a game or pirating it, piracy is not good for PC and only pirates will use such excuses.

It looks like the presentation is a bit more rounded out/consistent in the PC version. There were areas in the Xbox One version that were jaw-dropping, and then others than looked like they could have been from the previous game.
It would also explain why in some screenshot comparisons the Xbox One and PC version look really similar and others the difference is night and day.

Well for me there are three standards of games on PC (Not counting additional benefits added from Nvidia or AMD).
1) Parity with console visuals and bad performance = Bad port (Batman Arkham Knights).
2) Parity or slightly better visuals than consoles and good performance = Good port (Mad Max).
3) Better visuals than consoles with good performance = Great port (The Witcher 3) – Minus the downgrade part.
TR 2013 sold very well on PC but they made us wait for RoTR due to that
crappy M$ deal full of loss, now if they want RoTR to sell great on PC
again they better impress us with good graphics and overall quality and right now it looks like that’s the case and by the looks of Nvidia frame time graphs it means performance will be good as well so it’s a win-win for us PC gamers.
Well 2016 ports look pretty good so far. Rise of the TR looks spot on and thanks to Nixxes. Even The Division is looking like a huge step in the right direction next to how Watch Dogs was next to console versions. And I keep forgetting The Division is a mmo online style game.
So far the biggest let down was the MKX news on PC with it’s dropped support.
It is indeed a great year for PC, we’re getting good games now and Batman was a huge lesson to those devs who were in mood of delivering lazy ports, I think Ubisoft took some lesson there then we’re getting truly strong GPUs from both sides (Pascal and Polaris). We are also getting Zen from AMD and if they manage to deliver this time then we’ll get good competition, reduced prices and better hardware. We will also see mass adoption of DX12 in this year so yes it’s a great step forward.
On the other hand consoles will still struggle in 2016, DX 12 is not going to make any difference for them since they are already low level so unless both MS and Sony make their next generation more powerful and higher priced it’s not going to catch up with PC but a higher priced X86 console will be nothing but a Steam machine so that will just be the end of consoles or at least the idea of cheap/portable gaming oriented systems.
As for MKX, I didn’t had any expectation from that game to be honest because the game sounded great on paper but they just destroyed it in execution, first they changed some iconic characters like Scorpion in controls and Mileena in looks, I hated her new look. She was just fine as half monster then they removed/killed some good characters like Jade, Sheeva, Sindel and Shao Kahn, then the game had terrible controls/customization and netcode so after the batman slap they just gave up on it. The game was also a DLC infestation just like most of the WB games are, I hate this practice. Let’s hope Capcom can deliver on SF5 and we’ll forget this garbage.

People seem to forget that sales on PC’s work differently than consoles, on consoles you have the first 6 months of high sales, then after that it drops off and after a year or two, sales pretty much dry up, on PC it’s different. sales keep going longer term even 10 years after release, reason being is that you might want to wait before buying because your hardware can’t handle it but will get it when you upgrade as well as other reasons.
