Nordic Games has released some new screenshots for Piranha Bytes’ new open world action RPG, ELEX. ELEX is a handcrafted action role-playing experience, set in a brand new post-apocalyptic Science Fantasy universe that puts players into a huge seamless game world full of original characters, mutated creatures, deep moral choices and powerful action. piranha bytes has been awful since gothic 2, it was not as good as the first and then they went bonkers with gothic 3 and decided to remake a inferior version of risen and lets not talk about the pirateskin risen 2 and the horrible dlc that was called risen 3.
awww but I liked Risen 3, it was much better than Risen 2 and is more polished than some of these AAA games.

I have enjoyed all of their games ok they are not the best looking out there but there is something unique and fun about them.
Combining fantasy with tech might come out pretty nice, let’s see what they make out of it.
I get it, there’s a jetpack, but what about the graphics? We all know once a game is showcased, that’s pretty much it. Even for alphas.
The graphics are irrelevant because piranha bytes cant optimize even if their life depended on it, so it wont run on playable framerates until years later with better hardware.
It doesn’t look that much better than Risen 3 and it looks confused.

Sci-fi fantasy setting just looks weird.

This thing looks and sounds so f*****g dumb.
They crammed in jetpacks, mechs, dinosaurs, sci-fi, fantasy, post apocalyptic settings…WTF is wrong with this studio? How about something original for once in your life? Just jam in some lasers and zombies at this point and call it a day.
The dumb thing is not this, the dumb thing is it will be like risen 2, a sci fi themed game like the pirate themed risen 2, but the entire game will play like the old gothic games, same ai, same monster types same combat system same upgrade system.
From what little I’ve seen from youtube, even after all this time the animations still look clunky. And yea, the world in this looks retarded.

Textures looks like from 2008 not cool man not cool
It looks so mixed and lost in what it’s trying to show you, not to mention it also looks pretty low res in terms of textures and other fx for a 2016 game. This also has a big MMO feel to it with it’s dated design.
This looks lame in a way only a Piranha Bytes game could look…maybe it’s deliberate? The main guy reminds me of a medieval version of that awful mega man cover.
I mean, I’m glad they’re still making 2007 games, even the swords still clip through the character’s hand, like in Gothic 3. What do they mean by ‘handcrafted’?
