Rebellion has released the first official screenshots for the upcoming remaster of Sniper Elite V2. These first screenshots showcase some of the visual and graphical changes that Rebellion has made to its third-person shooter.
Sniper Elite V2 Remastered will feature enhanced graphics 4K and HDR Support, will include all the DLCs that were released for Sniper Elite V2, will come with new playable characters and will sport a frame-by-frame photo mode.
Sniper Elite V2 is set in the dying days of World War Two and is a next-generation reboot of 2005’s acclaimed original, Sniper Elite. The game weaves an explosive story of an undercover American OSS agent, stalking enemy prey across key historical locations from the Battle of Berlin in a mission to unravel the mysteries and dangers of the German V-2 rocket programme.

But i hated that game when i bought it back when it came out , well ok not when it came out, a few months later i saw a good deal.
For the consoles quite a bit for the PC not much since we can always adjust resolution and fps. It’s just a remaster of the original assets not a remake.
In all honesty. It doesn’t look BAD but it doesn’t look GOOD either. Is it really worth a remaster ?
Not saying the sniper series is bad or anything. But is V2 really worth the time for a remaster? I think it’s dumb. I would rather see the developers focus on a new game engine as well as work on some new game mechanics for the series and change things up.

Because of the lack of Backward compatibility. Hope that gets fixed in the next gen.
Why not Sniper Elite 1 ? This remaster is just useless.
Mostly because the game looked tremendously good on last gen. Giving it 1080p60 plus some higher rez textures and some lightning improvements make the game look current gen enough.

That’s literally the exact reason why there’s no need to remaster SEV2.
SE1 on the other hand is PS2 era and COULD vastly benefit from a remaster or remake.
I know what you’re saying. I was saying V2 was an easier job to port on and get an easy buck. The first one is noticeably older and would require much more work to get up to standards. So…

All the shots he’s making on the screenshots look like they could be done no problem with a rifle without a scope, some even with a pistol.
I mean, I get that a true sniper game would be a borefest (lie in wait for hours/days, take one shot, get the hell out of there), but still…
You’ve clearly never played SE so why are you even commenting?
Most shots on V2 are in the 400m range (no assists), which is the maximum effective range of a scope-less FAMAS. Ever fired a gun in your life?

It’s not even like they rebuilt the game in the SE4 version of the engine. It’s the same game slightly improved.

Game looks fine to me still. No need for a remaster. Not this remaster. There are clearly improvements here that could be made, and probably weren’t.
