The PC graphics options – alongside the key binding settings – for Dark Souls III have been unveiled. PC gamers will be able to a respectable amount of options, and it’s worth noting that the PC version will run at 60fps.
Going into more details, PC gamers will be able to adjust the quality of textures, shadows, depth of field, motion blur, lighting, effects, reflection, water surface and shaders. Furthermore, you will be able to enable or disable anti-aliasing (our guess is that FXAA is being used).
Below you can find the PC graphics settings and the key binding options that were revealed during a recent livestream from IGN!

It s 60FPS lock or you can go above that?
I believe its locked at 60. Not completely sure, but mostly.
Locked at 60=slow mo for some machine capable to run the game on medium, but hope it’s not locked.

The only thing I think is missing is antisotropic filtering.
At least you can force it through the video card. I do that with every game anyway since a lot of times the Nvidia AF method is better than in-game.

thats a setting which has had such minimal impact for so many years, even on the lowest end hardware, that i agree with devs just setting it to 16 and leaving it off the menu

In defense of Bethesda (I wouldn’t normally defend them) Fallout 4 has TAA. Not just FXAA.

Yeah, yesterday after 22h of Playing New NFS 17 |Lev.48| (so called Good PC Game lol) i refunded this Crapy Port. Im using since 14 years same PS2 Dual Shock Pad with USB Hub for PC.
Older Games uses all Inputs NP.
But New NFS don’t recognize my Joy (New Most Wanted does NP, Rivals only through xACE 360 but NP) even xACE 360 don’t work properly !!!
Copy-Paste X1 assets don’t work for PC Games !!! And they feed us with Lies that new NFS will be Polished for PC thats why we have to wait >3 months, and?
Its all about Con$ole Money (it was Timed Exclusive for X1/PS4 but they feed lies, IMO)
Next – when you drive a car you have one comparison in Mind you driving Train on the RAILS !!, IMO better Arcade physics was in MW /Rivals.

You can see the mouse cursor in the center, and normally, game should’ve change the icons to KB/M automatically.
Moreover, someone below said that they tried to disable controller, but that didn’t help. I’m sort of not in the mood watching 3 hours stream myself.
I think that mouse cursor is a bug. Seems to me they are playing with a controller, hence those icons. But whatever, too early too judge at this point.

Sounds like you don’t own The Division. All I see is bla bla bla bore this and bore that but no merit to go along with it. If it was so boring why is it doing so well on Steam? And besides more content is getting added to the game all year just to start.

I personally believe dark souls gameplay is superior to the division. But that’s me. I’m more a sword kind of person. I don’t care too much about the graphics.

Not to mention bad game design, boring missions, unbalanced PVP, and basicly nothing to do in an always online game but shooting some bullet spongy guys and see the numbers fly.
Not trying to denfend DarkSouls (specially when a gtx980 can’t maintain 60fps on console level visuals) but atleast you will get a good level design (world desing itself, roots and how they are conneted) and nice enemy variety and Visuals = Console =/= Bad Game. since when visuals make games great or bad ? (crysis3 says hi) eye candy visuals will become normal in an hour or two but a nice gameplay or design is what makes the game last forever.
I played Division. It’s decent. Gameplay is well refined but nothing revolutionary. It’s the same cover based shooter set up.
It depends on implementation. Dof is a good technique when applied to either really far, or really close objects, or some special interactions (like the Crysis weapon modification “menu”). Even chromatic aberration can find its own use (like, again, the Crysis invisibility mode).
I don’t like motion blur at all, and it’s only tolerable when applied to some special scenarios, like chromatic aberration, which sadly not the case with Dark Souls, when you see it in every quick move.
Resolution support would be good to know, does anyone know if it will support 4k?
These games have never been about eye candy any way. If you’re complaining you have never played a Souls game.
Probably gonna be FXAA but just use the guide I posted in the SweetFx Division article if you do not know how to inject SMAA. You can add SMAA to any game in seconds.
The only time you need to complain about bad AA options is on a UWP/Windows Store app. Why? Cus SweetFX is not allowed to work with that abomination.
Oh and for those that play these games on mouse/keyboard? If the rebindings are not that great You can use X-Mouse Button Control. You can set a profile for any game and just make any button simulate a keyboard press.
Grats now you never have to worry about bad keybinding options or bad AA again (outside MS garbage).
Ok, someone with modding/game design experience can please tell if it’s really that hard to include KB+M button prompts? Or is it what I suspected all this time that From Software is just lazy?
They are a Japanese dev and Japan does not do PC Gaming. Like no one cares about it at all. They basically expect everyone will play this with a controller. If there are any problems Durante will prob have a fix like DSFIX.
Just be glad they have 60 FPS out of the gate. The rest we can easily fix.
In other Asian countries PC Gaming is their national sport. Japan ain’t one of em.
Damn but they are selling it internationally! And a big part of their market is PC gaming! At least Bandai Namco should say something about it! But as you say, yes that’s easy to overcome and at least the game seems to be running great.
