As promised, Naughty Dog released a new major update for the PC version of The Last of Us Part I. This latest update promises to reduce overall CPU usage. In order to achieve this, Naughty Dog has updated the game’s texture streaming procedure.
Moreover, this patch updates the user interface to accurately display VRAM usage. This will be crucial for all those owning GPUs with 8GB of VRAM. And, in case you’re wondering, no. This patch will not reduce the overall VRAM usage. It won’t also improve the quality of Medium Textures.
Thankfully, Update 1.0.2.0 improves overall stability. According to the devs, there is a fix for a known crash that would happen randomly during gameplay. There is also a fix for a crash that could occur during shader loads when booting the game for the first time.
As always, Steam will download this patch the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

Why not also promise to cure the gay cancer *ahem* I mean “AIDS” in this POS?
Why are they building a shader cache on the Steam Deck when they could just make one and have the user download it with the game exactly like they do with a console? Since they all have the exact same hardware specs there is really no reason to have the user compile shaders …. If Naughty Dog/Sony won’t do it then Steam should themselves
Because it isn’t Steam Deck certified. Steam knows this game needs a lot of work before it truly works in the Steam Deck.
Sure doesn’t look like you’ve moved on ……
This site is a joke, all the news is just this crap game getting updates.
dont forget the Skyrim / The Witcher 3 4K 8K 16 K mods news every day !
It doesn’t need to, there’s hundreds of interesting gaming stuff out there, both new and old. John just picks the lame stuff.
John barely covers 10 % of AAA games, he just focus on this one for clickbait potential.
Indie games is where what is at lmao. They are more derivative and copy pasted than triple A sh*t but they get a*s licked by self important hipsters like you
How about they fix that nonsense where i got to update to latest windows 10 version for dumbass Agility SDK in order to play sh**ty ps3 to ps4 to ps5 to PC port
Look at all these dozens over dozens of fixes and one patch every 2 or 3 days. And the developers appologizing for the state of the game. But john from dsogaming blog wrote how awesome this game is and nowhere near an unoptimized mess. Because an overpowered system bruteforces some of these issues. Someone should inform the devs, those suckers are crunching so hard right now, when all this time the game just had superficial issues. I mean, it says so on dsogaming
Why do you care so much about this game? Is just another broken game, plus complaining about those with high hardware having little or no issues with it is ritarded.
game running fine with my 2070…
5 year old GPU this is what you call a “overpowered system ” LOL ok
Game running like butter here on maximum settings, and I have a 3h Stream on Twitch to prove it.
i still didn’t finished 1 but from what i heard about TLoU 2 , i don’t even want to try it, even if performance was good !
the story are a big finger to part 1
It is the biggest bait and switch in gaming history. Imagine this, you’re favorite Pnography. It has all things straight everything. Then suddenly they dropped a sequel. You downloaded it lube & tissues. Then you grabbed your dxck and get ready to double click. And all you see on screen is dxcks in hairy b-holes. Cherry on top the “lady” has a 5 o’clock shadow just giving it to the dude. That is the TLOU2. That’s why it’s more familiarly dubbed, the “Gay3st Of Us”.
just looked at some feedback online plus some 1:1 video footages (4090, 4080, 3060 ti, 1660 ti, 1660 super, so every range of cards with modern cpu’s like 5600x to 13900k) of the same area’s and i think they are just messing with people there. Cpu usage is not only the same but sometimes even higher (LOL), gpu usage is exactly the same, just in some scenese marginally better and WORSE (???!!!!!) in others, vram and ram usage is exactly the same too, such as erratic texture settings for medium and low it seems.
I had some hopes reading changelog featuring streaming changes for assets to help cpu, but honestly it is just the same as before if not even worse WTF
hope that other people will not be fooled by patch like this and still refund the game, doesn’t matter if system is high end enough to brute force the game, is just a ideaology thing at this point where they are asking people money for a subpar job that force to enjoy game in a bad state. People is still giving them the same money but experience is just terrible on mid range machines (most of pc’s out there basically).
Don’t buy, if you do you are giving them the idea they can continue in this way fot future games, every company will start to do like this (exactly like happened in last year with basically 90% of triple A games)

The CPU part is true. It’s no longer doing 80-97% on my R5 3600.
I’ve seen 55-80% now. Way better
Sony claimed Microsoft will degrade COD on their platform if they buy Activision, the fact Sony claimed that must be because they themselves did that before and now are doing it again with that pos port to make idiots thinks their PS5 is some kind of magic box
After testing it seems that all the crash issues have been resolved. Game runs smooth on ultra settings. However, there is a slight bit of stuttering at times when you enter new areas. Also there is still some issues in the intro sequence. When Joel carries his daughter through the streets, the CPU usage is like 10% and the GPU usage hovers around 60-70% and frame rate drops frequently during the sequence. But after that, GPU usage goes back to 100% and all is smooth.
These posts are pointless since updates are automatic. Just clickbait things.
Too busy riding grooming flotillas and putting hats on cats to do proper QA testing.
