Rebel Wolves has just released Title Update 1.1 for The Blood of Dawnwalker and shared its full patch notes. So, let’s see what this new update brings to the table.
One of the biggest new features is the Draught of Mind Rebirth. This item lets you reset your Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism skills. You can then use the time spent on those skills to learn new ones. This gives you more freedom to try new builds without starting over.
The update also lets you pet animals. It adds a new, easier Story mode with extra help in combat. The old Story mode is now called Forgiving. There are also new subtitle options. You can make the text bigger and turn on subtitles for all lines of dialogue.
Combat should feel smoother after this patch. The team has changed some fight moves and camera work. It has also improved how you aim at foes, lock on to them, and break away from a fight.
Moves like Shadowstep and Planeshift are now more responsive, too. It should be easier to aim at a spot and latch on to it. The update also fixes issues with dodging, blocking, and some skills. Some foes and bosses now act as they should, and many fight bugs have been fixed.
Patch 1.1 adds a few useful changes to daily play. You can now buy back items sold by mistake. Items you have equipped are hidden when you sell gear. You can also set dead zones for your gamepad.
Gear upgrades now cost less at higher levels. You can also use the same gear in both your day and night sets. The game now shows item weight and value more clearly, and fixes many issues with menus, maps, and skill screens.
The update also makes some foes less tough. Boars and wolves have less health at higher levels. This should make fights with them less of a chore.
PC players get an update to Frame Gen, with its own settings menu. The patch also fixes frame drops when using a gamepad to zoom in or out on the world map. It fixes a drop in frame rate at the start of one boss fight, too.
The update also fixes many issues with controls. Some players could not pick dialogue choices or items with a gamepad. Other bugs could stop map zoom, lock menus, or cause odd changes between mouse and gamepad input. These issues have now been fixed.
It’s also worth noting that Update 1.1 fixes bugs across the game world. Some could make Coen get stuck, fall through the map, or teleport to the wrong place. Others could cause foes to freeze, vanish, or act in strange ways. The team has also fixed issues with lights, weather, fog, shadows, and objects that popped into view.
Many quests have also been fixed. Some tasks could not be done, key people could fail to appear, and doors could stay shut when they should open. Other bugs could cause the wrong goal to show on the map or stop a quest from moving ahead. These fixes should help more players finish the story without getting stuck.
Patch 1.1 also fixes issues with save files, map marks, item rewards, and time-based events. It fixes bugs in boss fights and skills, too. Some foes had shields that could vanish, while some skills dealt damage when they should not. These issues have now been addressed.
Furthermore, the dev team has fixed many visual bugs. These include bad textures, odd lighting, broken animations, and items that did not look right. Some characters had strange face or body movements during talks. Others had gear that clipped through their clothes. The patch fixes many of these issues.
Sound has also been improved. Some voice lines failed to play, and some fight music could stop or start too late. Other sounds were too loud or played at the wrong time. These bugs have been fixed, along with other small sound changes.
The patch also includes fixes for text in many languages. It corrects some story details and makes small changes to maps and level design. On PS5, it fixes a screen flicker bug in the credits and improves some menu art.
Overall, Update 1.1 is a major patch for The Blood of Dawnwalker. It adds new ways to build your hero, makes combat and movement feel better, and fixes a wide range of bugs. With over 1,100 fixes and changes, it aims to make the game smoother and more fun to play.
As always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below, you can also find its full patch notes. To avoid any spoilers, I have not included the Quest fixes. Those interested can find them here.
