11 bit studios just released the first big update for The Alters. This game is a sci-fi story with survival, adventure, and base-building all mixed together. It uses Unreal Engine 5, and has Very Positive reviews on Steam. Now, let’s see what this patch brings to the table.
Patch 1.1.0 includes over 73 bug fixes. According to the patch notes, the tutorial videos won’t run too long anymore. The update also fixes several collision issues while walking around the planet. Plus, resources won’t be held back if nothing is being made. Oh, and the HUD will now adjust as it should to your settings.
It’s also worth noting that The Alters should now be more stable on PC and the Steam Deck. The devs fixed crashes that could happen while climbing or fast traveling. They also fixed a crash that could happen when starting the next chapter on the Steam Deck.
11 bit studios also claims that it has made some performance optimizations. Sadly, they did not go into more details about them. Still, as I’ve reported, The Alters already ran great on PC at launch. There was an issue with the game’s AA/upscaler, but other than that, it ran with high framerates on a wide range of PCs.
Finally, Patch 1.1.0 brings multiple fixes to rebellion logic. These fixes will apply to new playthroughs and when the player reloads a save from the last journey. It also packs a number of localization fixes and tweaks.
Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below, you can also find its patch notes. I’ve not included the Quest fixes as they contain spoilers. If you are interested in them, you can find them here.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

That's nice, too bad I already finished the game a few days ago.
Is it worth playing? I see a lot of what I assume to be viral marketing and or bots posting amazing reviews but the few people I know that played it said it was mid at best. Any lefty stuff in it?
I didn't pay anything for it since I use microsoft points to get gamepass sometimes, so in terms of strictly spending time on it, I'd say it's worth it if you've got nothing to play and don't mind playing resource management type of games. It has an interesting sci-fi premise and does have choices that matter quite a bit. It definitely has some subtle lefty elements in it though, which is a bit disappointing considering the studio is Polish, but it's maybe cringe-worthy at worst as it's not in-your-face about it. In my playthrough, here's what I picked up on:
– Typical abusive father and victim mother stereotype. Could've made it interesting by flipping the gender roles but no, they had to stick to the usual propagandized formula
– One of the characters is likely a polyamorous one that swings both ways
– One of the characters that helps you is a nerdy taco bean that just happens to be an exceptional individual. He could've been an European, but once again, the developers had to appeal to the "modern audience" (who in their minds is probably comprised of American democrats that are anti ICE I guess)
– Ex wife is also a real career woman in a STEM field
– In a behind the scenes video that's viewable in the game, you can see a bulk of the women who work at the studio fit the leftist woman stereotype, including the lead writer I believe
Despite all that, I still had a pretty good time with it. Overall I'd give it an 8/10.
ok so the game is woke trash.
yeah, into the trash it goes
shief, how do you earn Microsoft points? by using bing image ai? is much effort put into earning MS points?
You can earn points by using the bing search on your phone and pc. You can also earn points by playing games on the xbox app and on the xbox console. The search can take a few minutes because they implemented a six second cooldown in between each search a year or so ago, but I usually do that stuff when I’m watching videos or listening to podcasts so it’s not so bad. Just feed them bad data by searching random terms, let them build a false profile on you lol
Nice, play the system
