God of War new feature 2

God of War PC Update 1.0.2 released, full patch notes revealed

Santa Monica and Jetpack Interactive have released the second PC patch for God of War. Update 1.0.2 is a small patch that fixes two bugs and adds two error messages. So yeah, don’t expect any major enhancements or improvements.

Going into more details, Patch 1.0.2 fixes an issue where users with Intel 12th Gen CPUs could not boot the game without disabling their integrated graphics card. It also fixes a UI issue that was causing a small memory leak.

As always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

  1. I tried this game yet again on PC and I gotta stay, this game is NOT GOOD! Tried it on PS4 2 years ago and only completed little but after you meet the 2nd weapon Smith (the 2 brothers). The question is why did I get to the same part yet again on PC & feel like I’m really wasting my time here. The FOV and Combat system really ruins the game. The combat is so damn basic and boring. The original god of wars was some of the hardest games there ever was and sprawling combat system. This game is just Garbo and have nothing to do with God Of War.

        1. If you play the Witcher 3 on the hardest difficulty, you cannot just spam sword swings to defeat enemies. You have to use potions and signs.

          1. I tend to ignore these Witcher 3 haters. Yeah no game is perfect, but to compare GOW 4 to The Witcher 3, that is just insanity with a side order of madness.

          2. Even on the hardest difficulty it was way too easy. I stopped assigning points at level 8, never used potions, and only used the trap sign (Yrden?), and never upgraded weapons or armor. Not until I played the DLC, and that was where I thought the game was really good.

    1. I really can’t say if the combat gets better but I agree at the start it’s basic and very tedious. Especially as a lot of enemies are just damage sponges.

Maybe it’s like DMC where you get tons of moves/combos?

      1. The original God Of War is where you get tons of moves and combos. You can literally look at all the moves and combos in this God Of War upgrade menu and it’s just one dimensional. A big part of this games problem is the Camera it is way too close to the player, they might as well made it first person if it was gonna be that close. Because at that distance Kratos is just in the way. This game is lacking the secret sauce of GOW. Just like How mass effect andromeda was lacking that secret combat sauce of Mass Effect. I don’t know what happened to the gaming industry everything is so blah and no finesse and style. We might as well be playing a stick on the screen with vertical and horizontal hits. I’m starting to wonder if this push for Graphic fidelity ruined gaming. Kratos is one giant clunk fest.

      2. Once you upgrade some abilities, the game becomes a joy and the combat is actually great. I’m having a lot of fun with it. It’s essential to use Atreus abilities, counters, as well as combos and your own abilities. You can really cause havoc by combining all of them.

    2. You are the authentic Sr_Boring, if you even finish the original game on the PS4 cause your own twisted notion of the game-play of a game which sold MILLIONS of copies and is a HUGE success…
To buy the PC version without change your opinion of the game-play (obviously the SAME) add stubborn and DUMB to your personal set of features…
      Man, this is ridiculous…

      1. Why do you A$$ hat$ keep on using sales numbers to justify a games solidarity. You do know that sales numbers doesn’t equate to good. Goodness is a subjecting property. Hell, Mein Kampf sold million, doesn’t mean it was good or even satisfying. You are just making a lot of assumptions, how do you know I bought the PC version and if I did why do I have to be dumb or stubborn. Your childish arguments are weak dude. Get over it, someone doesn’t like what you like. I’m happy for the games success, I never spoke against it. I’m speaking as a consumer not a FUQING share holder. If I was a shareholder I would love this game and lick it’s te$ticles like you but as a consumer, who consumes products, this one is followed by an upset stomach. LIVE WITH IT!

      2. Your SDM latex opinion dint bothers me, you are a minority and console games (and PC) are made for the masses of stream culture.
There always a conflict with the majority of people and the pain on the a*s of self-called “elite” …
        If you think GOW sucks…
Go f*k yourself on latex else where, freak…

        1. You can’t tell someone to go F’ themselves because they think a game sucks. I don’t like Latex Submits To Faggorty but i don’t agree with how you handle that situation. The man is allowed to like what he likes without being told to f himself. Tell him to F himself for other reasons but not because of his taste or thought of taste in a VIDEO GAME. c’mon man, we are suppose to be better than Latex Beats Himself In Shame 🙂

          1. Your answer gives me the absolute certainty that you sure have a micro and primitive brain too…

    3. Original God of War games hard? Please. Could beat those games blindfolded by simply mashing square, square, triangle over and over. This game forces you to be aware of the enemies you’re encountering and their move sets and weaknesses. It’s more like a less intense Souls game rather than the button mashy originals. Which, those games were good fun for their time. But I’m glad they switched up the gameplay to something that requires a bit more thought and consideration.

      1. You are GOD DAMN LIAR, you cannot survive any God of war game(from the originals) by button mashing. Your memory is full of the same sh*t that’s coming out of your mouth. God OF War Games were known for their difficulty, they were not button mashers, that’s why when anyone says that, I KNOW FOR A FACT THEY NEVER played GOW. Next you’re gonna tell me that Ninja Giaden was easier than Dark Souls or just easy period. There is a “Tower Part” in ascension where It’s know that everyone had to lower the difficulty and that was GOW ascension, not the trilogies that were much worse. There are forums on that sadistic part of the game where people beg the devs to lower the difficulty. Mind you, the trilogies were much harder games but at least they were rewarding, GOW 4 is not rewarding, hard or fun, it is simply a waste of time.

  2. The PC version has a new featured armors named Promise Armor NOT present on the PS4 game. Available to Kratos just after the burn of Faye and the begin of the deer hunt.
The armor kicks a boost to the begin of the game with spaces of enchantment.
There is also a Promise Armor to Atreus but is only available after the deer hunt when the gamer can command Atreus to shoot his bow.
QUESTION will be a patch on PSN to the PS game to include this new armor???
I played the begin of the GOW om PS4 today, January 20 2022, and this armors are not there…

  3. They should fix performance on AMD GPUs and also the abysmal CPU usage. This game is a CPU hog. It runs at 30 FPS on jaguar cores ffs and murders a I5 2500k on PC!
