First Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered PC Patch brings performance and stability improvements

Nixxes has released the first PC update for Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, and revealed its full patch notes. According to the changelog, this first patch packs some bug fixes, and brings some performance and stability improvements.

Going into more details, Patch 1.1 fixes a crash that could occur for some players when adjusting mouse and keyboard controls. It also fixes a bug that could cause disappearing and/or flickering shadows in Meridian when playing on ultrawide resolutions, as well as a bug that could cause a bow to appear floating in a cinematic.

Thanks to this update, pre-rendered cut scenes will now have the same audio volume as gameplay. And, as I said, the update brings some general performance and stability improvements. Sadly, Nixxes has not gone into more detail about these improvements. So, I won’t expect them to be that major.

From what I’ve heard, the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is in a pretty solid state. And yes, the remaster requires a PSN account. Plus, Nixxes has no plans to remove this requirement.

Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

    1. One of the best Remasters ever made ….. The differences are like day and night, in fact I like looks of HZD Remastered better than Forbidden West. The baked lighting alone was worth the cost and that's hard to do and time consuming in a large open world with dynamic day/night cycles and a dynamic weather system. The distant LODs are really good too

So far I've had none of the problems listed in this update but I did have a CTD fighting a bunch of Tramplers (Machine buffalo).

      1. One of the best remasters of all times ? Maybe, but it's a remaster of one of the most overrated games of all times, doesn't worth any money

      2. exactly bro .game looks fantastic .what a remaster .i need more remasters after playing this remaster .i dont get all the hate for this game

      3. "One of the best Remasters ever made" you our WHY we get NO new IP, remasters after remasters, and Man-hating in Male entertainment. I Played the game on pc for 200+ hours, 2 years ago….LOOKED next-gen then. get the Corpo C*ck out your mouth. this game turned me against Sony

" lets make a Robot dinosaur game….. Perfect! boys love Robots and Dinosaurs….and we'll make every male in it a idiot/helpless/weak…wait why?….the stupids wont notice"

      4. Not sure what you are on about. It barely qualifies as a remaster. The only significant difference is in the way the water looks.

        1. Cause simps are the target audience for this kind of games, they will keep buying them even if they get kicked in the balls.

      6. I wouldn't be surprised if these pro Soyny replies saying "best remaster evah" are botted by PS fanboys paying Indian bot farms.

    1. Unless you missed an entire generation of open world action/adventure games, HZD is nothing special, it has great initial ideas but it falls flat in the end, boring Ubisoft-like content, sh*t AI, flat lvl design, woke story and characters… The visuals and art are great but they're not gonna save it from mediocrity

      1. it looks greatttt .hands down my best looking game of this year .i dont talk about wokeness or gamplay…it has the best graphics of this year

          1. yeah those games look great and technically superior to this game .this game doesnt even have ray tracing .but i rank this game above those 2 games .it looks prettier to my eyes .i love what i see wow .those vistas .its prettier than wukong hellblade dragon age ……

  1. this game looks perfect .wow.easily my best graphics of the year .no ray tracing or path tracing but looks perfect .its much prettier than forbidden west due to its prettier world not technically .it takes place in prettier enviornments .every scenes are just perfect to my eyes i see no flaw .and it has the best use of dlaa .game looks much better with dlaa in this game. wow .i love this remaster

  2. I picked this up the other day and was not impressed at all. the graphics look ok at best and the long cut scene at the beginning had a few horribly low res textures. Then when I started playing it there are some bad cloth and hir physics with lots of clipping. And no it is not just me as some other have had same complaints and I noticed the same issues in a gameplay video too. It is not even worth the 10 bucks IMO but I cant refund it as the game still kept running for over 8 hours after I stopped it according to Steam. That was also another bug mentioned on the forums. Do games even get tested anymore before release?

    1. Downgrade your Nvidia drivers the latest ones are bugged in several games.

The first thing I did was benchmark the game using 560.94 and got 101 FPS. Then I installed the latest and it dropped to 81 FPS so I reinstalled 560.94 and it went back to 101 FPS. That's a 20% difference in performance which is huge

The reason I did that was because I already knew the latest Nvidia drivers were bugged in Forbidden West having the same texture issues you had but Forbidden West doesn't have a built in benchmark to also test performance differences.

This is why I only update my graphics drivers 2-3 times a years and wait a couple of weeks for results when I do.

  3. I wish one day they release a patch so that it wipes out this stupid game. Overrated trash of the decade.
