Nixxes has released the first title update for the PC version of Horizon: Forbidden West, and shared its full patch notes. According to the devs, this update includes crash fixes, various bug fixes, and improvements based on player feedback.
Going into more details, Patch 1.0.43.0 enables DLSS 3 Frame Generation in cutscenes and while UI screens such as the weapon wheel are displayed. As such, owners of the RTX40 series GPUs should be getting an even better experience now.
This update fixes a problem where the mouse cursor wasn’t quite in the right place on the map if your screen wasn’t set to 1920×1080. It also stops a glitch where more than one Quest category could be highlighted at once. And now, when you’re using a controller in Photo Mode, the game shows the right button prompt for hiding the UI.
Owners of HDR monitors and TVs will be happy to now that the HDR Max Luminance slider is now functioning correctly. Thus, you won’t have to rely anymore on mods in order to enjoy the game in HDR.
Nixxes has also implemented a QoL improvement. The game will now be able to save when the Documents folder is rerouted to the root of a drive instead of a folder.
Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog. Oh, and make sure to read our PC Performance Analysis.

Does the patch make Aloy stop talking incessantly?
Wouldn’t you miss hearing a woman voice saying for once anything but “leave me alone creep” ?
You can tell those who have never been married or lived with a woman for a long time. I barely notice the chatter myself and just tune it out but that’s from years and years of experience and practice …….
That is exactly what kids and Joe Biden’s daughter says to him.
Did you know you can give these to a dyer later? I’ll remind you the next 500 times just so you don’t forget.

Hello i think that i saw you visited my weblog so i came to Return the favore Im trying to find things to improve my web siteI suppose its ok to use some of your ideas
The game looked really good the first few hours but once you cross into “the forbidden west” it’s all a bunch of muted flat colors and landscapes. Very disappointing considering how vibrant and dynamic the first areas are. I thought the game had broken until I fast traveled to a previous area and saw everything was ok there.
Beyond that there are weird performance issues that’s re popping up out of nowhere causing stutters and fluctuating variable frame rate which is bad enough on its own, but also makes frame generation unusable. Primarily in cities/camps. Not sure if it’s some type of memory leak issue as quitting for the night and going back the next day the problem was gone.
They’ve still got work to do on fixes/optimization.
If you are running RTSS (Afterburner) then you need to update it. It also seems some keyboard/mouse and RGB software is interfering such as iCue.
I swear RGB software is the cause of 50% of gaming problems ….. I have none of that nonsense and this game runs flawlessly for me. The only problem I’ve had was after the latest patch the game crashed on start up the first time but it’s been fine since then.
I’ve tried just not opening afterburner/rtss but no go. Are you on a 7800x3d by chance?
