Dying Light 2 new feature

Dying Light 2 Title Update 1.23 Released, Full Patch Notes

Techland has just released Title Update 1.23 for Dying Light 2: Stay Human and shared its full patch notes. So, let’s see what this new update brings to the table.

Patch 1.23 launches the UGC Fest, a fun 4-week event that celebrates content made by players. During this event, you can join special challenges each week to win new weapons and charms that change how you play the game. Every week, three maps made by the community will be featured, so you can explore cool new places made by other players.

Update 1.23 also brings some changes to how the game plays. For example, it makes you stay safe a little longer after getting hit by increasing the default immunity time by 50%. It also fixes a bug where players could get stuck on a pile of books in the Prologue. Another fix stops a problem where dodging too soon could let you avoid using stamina and still hurt enemies. Lastly, it fixes a bug where Waltz didn’t act the right way during one of his attacks.

This update also brings a bunch of technical fixes. It fixes a problem where the lighting looked weird inside buildings. It also repairs broken ground textures in the Prologue and removes grass that was showing up inside buildings. Trees now look and move more realistically in cut-scenes. And if you saw a hole in the ground during the Prologue, that’s been fixed too.

Before closing, I should note that Techland will also release today the Retouched Update for the first Dying Light. This Update will bring some graphical enhancements ot the game. For example, it will overhaul its textures. It will also improve the PBR materials and lighting. The maximum LOD range will be increased from 260% to 340%. Plus, there will be new 8K shadows. In a way, this is what you’d expect from a remaster. Or at least that’s what a lot of companies do these days with their “remasters”. But Techland is offering these visual enhancements for free to all players.

Overall, I’m happy with how the game has been supported after launch. Dying Light 2 came out in 2022. At first, it was missing some features that made it feel worse than the first game. So, it’s quite refreshing to see this length post-launch support. My biggest problem with DL2, though, was the story. It didn’t grab me at all.

Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below, you can also find its complete changelog.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. My biggest problem with the game was how they replaced 90% of the side content with "do a timed race". If I see one more timer, I'm out
