Remedy has released the March 2025 Title Update for CONTROL, and shared its full patch notes. So, let’s see what it brings to the table.
According to the changelog, the March 2025 Patch adds official support for HDR. Plus, it brings enhanced support for DLSS. RTX owners can now use DLAA. Moreover, they can use DLSS for arbitrary resolutions. DLSS has been updated to DLSS 3.7, with higher temporal stability.
The patch also fixes an issue with shadow resolution when using DLSS. Not only that, but it adds resolution dependent mip map bias for DLSS. This enhances texture quality, for example when applying the DLSS Performance setting.
And that’s not all. The March 2025 Update comes with some texture streaming fixes. It also adds rendering resolution support beyond 4K. Furthermore, it improves Ray Tracing. This Ultra Ray Tracing setting gets you more rays per pixel and higher temporal stability.
It’s also worth noting that the March 2025 Patch adds support for ultra-wide monitors for up to 48:9 monitors. It also adds an FOV scaling setting for the gameplay camera. Oh, and it also updates SDR to 10bit (from 8bit), which reduces visible color banding.
In short, this patch features most – if not all – of the features of the HDR Mod that came out in February 2023.
Like always, Steam and Epic Games Store will download this patch the next time you launch their clients. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

Stuff from pre-order, and from Deluxe Edition has been give away for free 😀
Oh people who paid extra will lose they mind 😀
A bazillion years later, stop calling for bullsh*t drama
if you played the mission, like i said above, you realize that you got scammed, its absolute trash.
I really enjoyed the visuals and art style. Especially if you played on an OLED with HDR. The contrast of the dark areas lit up with red was beautiful. If they add ray reconstruction I'll replay it if/when I get a 5090.
wtf this has to do with what i said about the mission being throaway lazy crap?
The visuals made the story enjoyable. I dunno. Just saying that the game was worth playing because of how it looked.
Does the old method of disabling TAA still work?
why? TAA rocks
TAA is the worst. The excessive blurring and ghosting are not OK, and sharpening to take care of the blurriness just makes the ghosting more noticeable. Normally I won't even play games where you can't turn off the TAA.
oh so you stopped playing games 5 years ago
I play games every day. But I only play games where it's possible to disable TAA.
Thank goodness these GPU drivers can override the upscaling solutions.
Why the f*ck no DLSS 4? And it's not even the latest DLSS in the 3 branch?? Bunch o' clowns.
the ps4 exclusive side mission is a perfect example of how garbage most side quests are in modern games, minimal effort over scripted blah blah with nothing new or interesting to show you.
This is what game developers/publishers need to do for the older games.
No ray reconstruction??
Was introduced with DLSS 3.5.
Yes but requires implementing the feature. Just using DLSS 3.5 doesn't let you use Ray Reconstruction. And comments I'm seeing about the game from the past year seem to indicate a desire for, but lack of ray reconstruction.
And as far as Nvidia's own games list from a month ago, it does not show RR support:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/nvidia-rtx-games-engines-apps/
If RR support was added, it would have been in the patch notes. Unless it's a colossal miss. Guess I'll download the updated game version and check for the RR DLL when I'm home in a few hours.
Downloaded and checked DLL Files. It comes with DLSS 4. But does not have Ray Reconstruction.
Is it still as noisy?
Haven’t played it yet. Just checked for the DLLs. Ray reconstruction doesn’t just help with noise. It can improve performance because it’s less costly than the multiple different denoisers you traditionally have to use and also adds additional/more accurate/faster updating lighting that you otherwise would have missed. Especially with the new DLSS 4 RR version that is a massive upgrade over the previous version. Missed opportunity imo.
The patch notes are incorrect. The update includes DLSS 4, more specifically v310.2.1, but by default it's not using Transformer model. However it does support it natively. You just need to change following option in renderer.ini to false:
m_bDLSSLegacyModel": true
I don't see such line in my renderer.ini, can I add it manually? Just asking cuz I can always forcing DLSS preset K, which is DLSS4 via DLSS Tweak.
If you were using the mod before, you need to make a clean installation of the game.
I loved this game. One of the few I will play again.
I’m 1/4 of the way through my second play through right now. Though it looks like the just made the unofficial final patch official from the most part. I swore dlss 4 was already added though. Will update tonight!
I had originally bought the standard version and later bought the season pass. The ultimate edition is literally just the game + season pass but that is NOT considered the ultimate edition according to Remedy so no update for me. That is BS.
