Well, better late than never I guess. Atomic Heart was one of the first games that showcased the benefits of Ray Tracing via its pre-release tech videos. However, when it finally came out in 2023, it did not support any Ray Tracing effects. And today, over one year after its official release date, Mundfish has finally added support for Ray Tracing on PC.
To enable RT, you’ll need a GPU that supports DXR with at least 12 GB of memory for proper operation. When RT is enabled, the Fidelity FX Super Resolution setting will automatically be disabled. Moreover, the player’s character will not be reflected in mirror surfaces with RT.
Ray Tracing in Atomic Heart has three beta modes. These three modes are: Performance, Quality and Balanced. To be honest, I’m a bit disappointed by these RT settings as they feel more suited to consoles than to PC. Unless of course the devs have also added individual RT settings to tweak. I’m downloading the game right now to test these RT effects and share some benchmarks, so stay tuned for more.
Alongside the new Ray Tracing effects, patch 1.14.4.0 also comes with some other additions, tweaks, fixes, and changes. For instance, it adds new accessibility options. It also fixes various graphical bugs, rare errors and crashes. As such, the game should be more stable now.
Before closing, there are also a couple of PC-only fixes. Update 1.14.4.0 fixes crashes that occurred when disabling the Fidelity FX Super Resolution setting. It also removes the ability to assign multiple actions to one key at once.
Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

OMG, finally! I had been waiting forever as I had refused to play this without RT. Three video cards later (2080 Ti, 3080, 4090) and I finally get to play it with the promised RT.
The RT in the game adds ray-traced ambient occlusion and reflections. It does not add RTGI. So, don't expect miracles from it.
And given it's UE 4.27, RT shadows can be forced also most likely.
Do you know how to do this?
r.RayTracing.Shadows=1 in engine.ini
Or in-game in terminal if using Unreal Engine unlocked.
There are more variables to tweak RT shadows, but I won’t list them here.
It doesn't work. Still just baked shadows for static objects and screen space shadows for movable objects.
I didn't try this at launch because of it either. Know it won't be a miracle worker but from video I saw of the game before and around launch there were LOTS of reflective surfaces and the SSRs looked awful to my eye. May actually give this a try finally
Which were the ray tracing effects that they showed off pre launch?
Reflections and shadows
This was a cool AA game. I gotta check what they were saying about the DLC to get back into this.
I was set to buy this day one. Followed it's development since announcement. Then they added Denuvo. Now I wait for Denuvo to be removed so I may pirate it to death. Not getting one red fuqin cent out of me.

hhahahahahhah
daily reminder this game was developed when only 2080 ti existed.
The leaked version before release had ray tracing options and took it out just before release.
Actually, the leaked dev build had an option but it did nothing at all when you enabled it. So, there weren't any RT effects at all in that build.
Yup! I had dl'ed the leacked release…

its an ok game but the cringe mcu humor kills it for me
Oh c'mon, it's less than 1 and a half years after release.
😛
When will they remove denuvo?
Meh it looks a little better now but nothing like that 2018 tech demo they showcased.. so much wait for so little payoff.
Didnt even implement RT shadows from the demo they showcased, even if UE 4.27 supports RT shadows just fine
