Red Dead Redemption feature

You can now play Red Dead Redemption with mouse look on PC via Nintendo Switch emulator Ryujinx

Modder ‘zhm86’ just dropped an awesome mod for Red Dead Redemption. Now, you can play this game on your PC using Ryujinx, and the cool part is, you can use your mouse to control the camera. This is like playing any other PC game where you move the camera with your mouse.

In case you weren’t aware, Rockstar released a remastered version of Red Dead Redemption on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Now while there wasn’t a PC version, PC gamers can play the Nintendo Switch version via emulators like Yuzu and Ryujinx. And that’s where this mod comes in. With Ryujinx, you can use this mod in order to control the camera with your mouse.

The modder is working on a version of this mod for Yuzu. However, it’s not yet available for download. Not only that but a similar mod for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is almost done, and will release really soon.

In summary, this is a must-have mod and we highly recommend downloading it from this link. And no, we won’t be sharing any links to the ROM file of Red Dead Redemption. Do your own research as I’m certain it’s easy to find the ROM and download it. Don’t also bother sharing any links to it in the Comment section.

Lastly, Rockstar has not revealed any plans to bring RDR to the PC. So, the best way for PC gamers to experience this game is via emulators. You can either emulate the Xbox version with Xenia, or the Nintendo Switch version with Ryujinx and Yuzu. When the game came out, Ryujinx was superior to Yuzu. Oh, and there is a 60fps that allows you to unlock the framerate. So, you can now play RDR with mouse look and 60fps.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Yuzu works exactly like a PC would. It has the same mouse movements that any other PC game does, even GTA 5. I already finished Red Dead Redemption, i got a whole youtube video about it too, if people dont trust me.

My point is, why is he working on a mod for Yuzu if it already has that buid in? Cool for Ryujinx tho. That emulator should have gotten a mouse support loong ago, even if its mod based.

    1. It’s a mouse injector, you’re not emulating analog controls with your mouse.
A mouse injector has to be coded for specific games, and it will not work with other games.

  2. Er this game was released on PC? and no disrespect intended, but WTF would you ever want to play it on a switch of all things..

    1. Red Dead Redemption 2 came to PC, but the original never did sadly. One of many reasons PC gamers hate Rockstar.

  3. My guess is a PC port will come out Q3 2024, or about a year after the PS4/Switch ports. They know PC gamers have been asking for this game for almost 15 years, and some would have/will double dip if they delay it a year.

But ya, it’s a good western game that’s worth emulating if you can’t wait. I have my copy on Xenia, but I’ve heard the mouselook mods are kinda crap for that version.

    1. There are three popular game libraries used by game developers:

      – Sony GNMX for Playstation consoles
      – Nvidia Tegra API for Nintenedo Switch
      – DirectX for Xbox, Windows and Steam OS with Proton

When game is created for Xbox then developers have PC version for free. DirectX use HAL (hardware abstraction layer) that support any hardware. This remaster was not created for Xbox so there are no DirectX version that can be released on PC

  4. I played this and the dlc through pretty easily on ryu, it’s much cleaner and easier than the old versions if not as modifiable. I use a xbone controller to save my non removable laptop keyboard worked out good. However my cpu got up into the mid 90s temp wise, turned off turbo boost for just a bit lower fps went down to 54c, have to take care of old laptop. 25-45fps mostly, pitiful for mostly 60 on rdr2 w turbo boost disabled as well, minimal difference regular play.
If they ever release 1 on pc I think they know they’re going to have to upgrade it if they’re going to ask 50$ for it, switch is low res no need if you use the switch screen to play. I’d go ahead and assume next year for RS is GTA6 release. I think they own max payne series but remedy working on the remake, not sure rdr1 is going to make it with all that going on.

With these gaps in franchises getting so long it kinda shoots themselves in the foot imo soooo many games out there lots of competition. I’d MUCH rather have the Hollow Knight sequel than pretty much any AAA or AA game franchise I actually play. BTW uninstalled taycon games terminator and robocop, playing bioshock infinite which is much better than those and much better than Alan Wake 2.
