Xbox Live’s Major Nelson Hints At Halo: The Master Chief Collection Coming To The PC

During this year’s PC Gaming E3 2015 conference, Phil Spencer revealed that Gears of War Ultimate Edition will be coming to the PC. However, it’s no secret that PC gamers want more triple-A games from Xbox One in order to be convinced that Microsoft truly intends to embrace the PC platform. And Major Nelson hinted at the Halo: The Master Chief Collection coming to the PC.

When Boogie2988 told Major Nelson to release the Halo: The Master Chief Collection in order to show their support to the PC platform, Major Nelson responded and said that the ‘message’ was received.

Now while this is not a confirmation, it does show that Microsoft is well aware of what games should be ported to the PC. And by that, we mean Gears of War, Halo and Forza.

The good news is that a PC version of Gears of War 4 was already hinted at the PC Gaming E3 2015 conference, so here is hoping that Microsoft will deliver this time around.

  1. So Phill decided to show up at the PC conference, yet no exclusive from Xbox One was anounced as coming to the PC, and his presence was indeed redundant and somewhat off-putting. Get this, even “No Man’s Sky” which was so far looking like a PS4 exclusive, at the end of the show got anounced that its indeed coming out for the PC aswell on the same eventual date, while nothing new that was supposed to be Xbox One exclusive got even hinted as coming to PC… pathetic. But wait, the remastered version of Gear of War 1, the only Gears of War that had already come out on the PC, is coming out for the PC again… wow… They couldn’t even anounce remastered version of Gears 2 and 3? pathetic really. And people are saying that a reashed version of old games like the previous Halos from the old gen would be a good start to show “good faith” from Microsoft towards PC gaming? after all they pulled? I don’t think so.

Anouncing Gears 4 also on PC, even if said it would come at a later date for the PC like a few months after the Xbox exclusivity? That would be one thing, same for the new Halo. But that’s not gonna happen, if the Xbox One exclusives would all start being anounced as coming to PC at a later date from the get go, Microsoft would just be admiting that Xbox One had lost big time.

    1. Hate to say it but the XB1 need exclusives and I think the pact with Windows 10 is to help them counter Sony and get more games onto their box.

  2. It seems like Microsoft is trying to create this Xbone/Win10 ecosystem which is good for PC in the sense that we get most of the consoles exclusives but it’s kinda bad for their console. I don’t get what they trying to achieve but We’ll see in the future.

    1. it really isn’t bad for their console as long as they have something new to offer on it. most of console owners are those that are literally afraid of PC. they don’t want to deal with any technical aspects of a PC and they are not aware that PC gaming is now cheaper than before. i had a friend that as a kid was a PC gamer, but as he grew up he got into console gaming and after a while he couldn’t even deal with minor PC problems so he just gave up on PC gaming. (this example doesn’t prove ANYTHING, but just felt sharing) that’s the majority of console gamers in my opinion. as for PS4 vs X1, their audience are distinguishable, meaning they have different tastes. so people that are into shooters, between PS4 and X1, are better off choosing X1.

PC is not a threat for consoles. mostly PC owners that are about to choose between consoles, are those that will be effected and they are the minority.

basically if Microsoft tries to treat PC gamers better while still keeping it’s console upgrade, it won’t lose anything at all. but i doubt they do that.

    1. I have no problem with upgrading to w10 & Dx12. 🙂
But it would be nice to have it on Steam with the rest of my game library…

      1. Yeah, i know that, it will never come to Steam, just saying that it would be nice. I just hope Xbox app for win 10 will be great, similar to steam but not another GFWL clone..We will see in the future, Looking Forward to W10 Dx12 and New XBox App for Win, and Ofc HMCC 🙂

      2. Well, I hope they follow the Ubisoft or CD Projekt route. They have their own store but still publish in Steam.

        1. what are you on about? both watchdogs and ac games are on steam. All of them. they just require uplay client on top of steam.

  3. Halo is the only thing from Microsoft that interests me. Even Steam re-releases of Halo 1 and 2 would be great. But yeah, it would be amazing to play Halo 3 with mouse, keyboard, 4K and 60+ FPS.

  4. I’d never understand why console exclusives exclude (!) PC. The war is between them. A console customer would never buy a PC to play the same game that he/she could play in a console. Console gamers hate drivers, installations, plugins, mods, clients, etc., and they just want to start and play.

It wouldn’t harm the console market if the exclusives are also released on PC. PC is just another ecosystem.

    1. “Console gamers hate drivers, installations, plugins, mods, clients, etc., and they just want to start and play.”

Nintendo is pretty good without needing updates to play games and generally better then the rest in that one single area but now a lot of my games need a system update ah. Still you have to admit Steam makes things pretty easy now a days for us

  5. I don’t really miss Forza, the PC has received some quality driving games lately, but damn I DO miss playing Halo. It’s just a “fun” shooter. And the “new” Gears was nice, but they should release the other games in the franchise as well, no need for “remastering”, just port them over (and ask for a fair, low price), that’s enough. 😉

  6. The best thing for me was the PC gaming show. The host blasting Phil that he’s on PC and talking about PC gaming. That’s just epic.

  7. They need to bring the entire Xbox exclusives to PC. I don’t mind it being Windows Store exclusive though.

  8. PC Users: Bring Master Chief Collection to PC!
    Microsoft: Nah

    PC Users: Please!
    Microsoft: Nah

    PC Users: Pleaaase!
    Microsoft: Nah

    PC Users: Pleaaaaaase!
    Microsoft: Mmmm

PC Users: Wohoo! Master Chief Collection confirmed for PC!!

    ………….

All joking aside, I’m interested in this. Let’s see what the fuzz has been all about.

  9. I’m not sure how you extrapolate that it’s coming to PC from a comment that simply states that they’re listening.

  10. Microsoft is listening, that’s exactly why they are only going to tease us with that F2P halo game instead. Microsoft strives to only give the most bare minimum of their franchises for pc.

  11. F’ Microsoft for not bringing it sooner…..Pc gaming looks on par with console gaming now. Before we were ahead.

  12. Microsoft for not bringing it sooner…..Pc gaming looks on par with console gaming now. Before we were ahead.

  13. It’s funny now…because we know we are not getting any Halo anytime soon….:(( Not cool Micro$$ft…not cool).
