Watch Bethesda’s E3 2017 Press Conference

Bethesda’s E3 2017 press conference will begin in around 15 minutes and below you can find a livestream for it. During this event, we expect Bethesda to unveil The Evil Within 2 and the new Wolfenstein game. There is no word for a new Elder Scrolls or a new Fallout game, so we strongly suggest lowering your expectations. Nevertheless, this will be an interesting conference!

    1. Given that it’s made using id Tech 6 we might just get what we were shown. However there are plenty of instances where other studios using a rented engine can’t make it both look and run as great as id Software could.

P.S. Keeping my fingers crossed for Vulkan.

      1. “it’s made using id Tech 6”

        Amen, hallelujah.

But yeah, agreed, fingers crossed this turns out well for them, & of course, for Vulkan ^^

  1. This soon? Too soon, mate.

Plus it seems like Bethesda may be shying away from announcing stuff 1+ years earlier than the expected release date now – though, these were all sequels/re-releases, etc. to be fair.

    1. And? Fallout 3 released in 2008, & Fallout 4 in 2015. Plus they just recently did the Skyrim Special Edition “remaster.”

Even assuming they do actually have the balls to skip on major tech upgrades to the engine (as unlikely as I believe that to be after the Fallout 4 visuals debacle), anything earlier than 2018 for Elder Scrolls VI was always going to be a stretch.

      1. New Vegas was made by Obsidian, not Bethesda, though, so it shouldn’t have affected their own development cycle unless they contributed sizeable resources to its completion, which is highly unlikely.

No it doesn’t, indeed, but Bethesda did treat it like a “major” release, so I guess they figure it’s enough to hold people over until the next one – when coupled with TESO, if need be.

If it’s Elder Scrolls VI up next, then they’ll definitely announce it at E3 2018 (unless they’re taking the time to actually make a real engine for it, in which case 2019/2020 seems more likely). If it’s some sort of “new unannounced IP” project (undoubtedly with a new engine to go with it), then it’ll either be E3 2018 or E3 2019 for that, with Elder Scrolls VI coming up at some point after, though it would indeed be rather weird for them to take pretty much a decade to release a new Elder Scrolls game.

    2. Except that Fallout now alternates, and that was 2015.
So next game, 2019/20, except Bethesda Game Studios, is making a 3rd franchise, before TES 6, that means the math says no Elder scrolls until 2023/24.

      1. “except Bethesda Game Studios, is making a 3rd franchise”

Good point, I’d forgotten about their 2/3 unannounced projects. Or, did one of them get announced, assuming it was the Elder Scrolls card game? Either way, yeah, there’s at least 1-2 announcements left for them to make, supposedly.

        1. Says Microsoft.

Says wait & see, says I.

After all, Microsoft has a long & shady as hell history, so taking their claims at face value at this point is just stupid. As such, let’s just wait & see how many games actually end up using “full” 4K rather than checkerboard 4K because the developers prioritised hitting 60 FPS over having more pixels, much as the case ended up being with the PS4 Pro.

          1. even you have to be impressed with a console that can do native 4k.forza 7 was native 4k/60fps btw. as always its up to the devs to get the most out of it.

a 4k/60fps gaming right that you would buy would cost what 1080 ti cheapest is $700 and a i 5 4690x is $266 thats still $900 at least for 2 parts.

            $499 for NATIVE 4K is a steal.

          2. Alleged 4K.

Also, as I already said; even the PS4 Pro could do full 4K on certain titles. The Scorpio’s challenge won’t be to do real 4K on Microsoft’s titles, it’ll be to do real 4K on ALL titles, which is what Microsoft is marketing it as.

          3. no they already said its up to the devs ALL 1st party titles will be native 4k.the devs can do 1080p/60 if they want or 4k/30.

            xbox has already stated this.
