Bad news: Microsoft has not provided any official PC drivers for the Xbox One controller. Amazing news: Lucas Assis has released an unofficial driver that can be downloaded right here, right now. As Lucas said, this driver was created in just under a day and although it works great, it’s not really that easy to install. You can view below the download link as a video tutorial. Enjoy!
Those interested can download this unofficial Xbox One Controller PC driver from here.
Be sure to watch the video below in order to install it correctly.
Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. Great news! My old xbox360 gamepad is starting to die I think… 🙁
Then buy a new one…games will already support it without needing an unofficial driver.
Ps4 controller is real good
Is it supporting rumble etc. ? But really great news regardless!
Not yet, the guy made this in a day, according to him at-least… If he did, what is Microsoft doing…
Yeah great work from the guy. Wonder if MS doesn´t want it to support PC, although they would sell more controllers.
I’m no computer whiz but I got my xbox one controller to work on my PC with the drivers they linked so don’t worry it is not too hard to do.
If anyone remembers when 360 first came out it was the same story, you couldn’t use a 360 controller in windows but someone made custom drivers then MS finally came out with their own drivers months later on.
More proof that Microsoft’s focus is anywhere except PC gaming is the fact they’ve sat on making a driver for this controller for gaming PC’s. Should have been done by Day 1, if not sooner.
Especially since they had to have a driver to make it work with Xbox One and Xbox One is based on the Windows 8 kernel.
